    Job summary

    The HR Coordinator provides support in functional areas of a human resources department, which may include recruitment, employment records, employee relations, compensation management, benefits administration, organizational development and training, occupational health, safety and security.

    In addition, the HR Coordinator will help develop and implement process improvements, and assist with day-to-day operations. The incumbent will display communication, and organizational skills to ensure employees receive assistance, support and customer service in line with the TGC’s strategies, mission and values.

    Summary of essential job functions:

    Effectively recording, maintaining, and reporting employee data and human resources information

    • Ensure that human resources files and employment records are accurate, organized and up-to-date, as well as filed and maintained in accordance with legal requirements, TGC policies and procedures
    • Run weekly and monthly employee reports including headcount, benefits, and employee data; interpret data in conjunction with the HR team
    • Provide superior employee administrative support such as accurate, organized, and up-to-date employee files
    • Coordinate and lead compliance and safety training and follow up with managers and employees as necessary

    Support the human resources and business teams with HR programs and initiatives:

    • Partner with Hiring Managers throughout the recruiting and onboarding processes, including interviewing, creation of onboarding guides, and first day set up
    • Act as first point of contact for all HR systems, benefits, or administrative related questions
    • Assist with implementation of effective retention strategies, including recognition, engagement, and employee surveys
    • Gather ongoing feedback from employees through new hire check-ins, exit interviews and monthly all-hands meetings
    • Ensure that all employee relations issues are quickly addressed and resolved in a timely manner, consistent with TGC’s practices
    • Support performance management process including review of annual goals, periodic process administration, and assisting managers with Performance Improvement Plans and Individual Development Plans

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required:

    • Demonstrated knowledge of the practices and principles of Human Resources including FMLA, ADA, worker’s compensation, safety administration, benefits, and employee relations.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of US federal and TX employment law and EEO  guidelines and policies including the principles and practices of staffing administration including methods and techniques used in recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, and training
    • Ability to work well with all levels of employees and management
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively take action to solve problems while exhibiting sound judgment and successful stress tolerance
    • Experience with HRIS systems
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to develop and guide processes through to closure
    • Demonstrated advanced skills with the standard features of various personal computer word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and other proprietary software)
    • Strong results orientation and a history of driving positive change with measurable results
    • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work effectively under pressure and deal with multiple priorities
    • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential material and information in an ethical, professional manner and process the local payroll function.

    Education and Experience Required:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or related field
    • Three or more years of HR experience with exposure to employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, training and development, and recruitment
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
    • Understanding of California law, preferred
    • Experience in Industrial Manufacturing environment, preferred
    • SHRM-CP/PHR certification, preferred
    • Fluent Spanish speaker, preferred (writing and reading)
