    Our client, a rapidly growing and diversified company in the cannabis industry, is looking for a Director of Accounting to lead an accounting team based in the Bay Area. This key position will direct and organize all general accounting activities and accounting staff, collaborate and implement SOPs and will report directly to the CEO.

    Job Description

    • In this role, the Director of Accounting will be responsible for preparing accounting and financial reports
    • Administer and prepare interim, year-end, and comp financial reports
    • Adhere to internal controls and provide assistance in technical accounting research
    • Assist in preparing the company's quarterly 10-Q and annual 10-K filings
    • Completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of accounting records is essential
    • Ensure accounting systems are in control and take necessary steps to minimize risk to the organization
    • Review bank and cash on hand reconciliation for all accounts on a monthly basis
    • Review fixed asset records and reconciliations; determines depreciation terms/rates to apply to capitalized items.
    • Stay current with developments, practice trends, and promulgation in the accounting profession; monitors accounting systems and recommends new or revised policies and procedures.

    Required Skills and Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field, Master Degree preferred

    • 5-7 Yrs public company experience w/internal audit

    • SOX and SEC experience with 10-K and 10-Q filings

    • Cannabis Accounting a plus

    • Active CPA in the State of California

    • Previous management responsibility

    • 10 + years general accounting experience

    • Experience with General Ledger and Account Reconciliation

    • Must have Financial Reporting and ERP

    • Advanced to expert level Excel skills

    • Solid experience with Quickbooks

    Compensation: $175,000 plus Benefits
