Import Manager

We are partnering with our client in the Plano area as they look for a new Import Manager to join their team! 

This role is responsible for leading the daily operations of an international import team and managing trade compliance.

The position requires strong communication and leadership abilities, willingness to be hands on, and strong Import experience.

Candidates must understand all aspects of the import and foreign trade zone operation, and stay updated on changes with regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities: 

• Manage the import team’s daily operation, set goals and provide resources and strategies, delegate work; train.
• Develop partnerships with internal and external customers
• Oversees imports/exports, FTZ, Trade and Customs Compliance

• Communicates with all parties involved in the supply chain process.

• Manage incoming shipment schedule

• Handle contract negotiation with carriers and monitor carrier performance 

• Review/process LC payments weekly and the ACH statement daily.

• Manage SCM for all Cross-Dock Customers and handle shipment invoicing.

• Assists with new customer setup within the import portfolio.

• Reporting requirements for the management team for decision making 

Required Knowledge:

Tariff Classification (HTS) - CTPAT Compliance - FTZ 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of experience in Imports

• 2 years experience overseeing a team is desired

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 

• Knowledge of FTZ Integration Point and Infor/Lawson ERP system preferred

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $80-85K
