Covenant Health is seeking a full time, night Registered Polysomnographer with the Sleep Lab at Covenant Medical Center.

Job Summary:
Works with minimal supervision to perform and score standard and complex sleep studies.

Essential Functions:
  • Conducts patient pre-test instructions and education and operate ancillary equipment related to sleep testing.
  • Exhibits ability to troubleshoot equipment without entering the patient's room.
  • Evaluates patients for breathing disorders related to sleep.
  • Exhibits ability to administer and titrate CPAP/BIPAP to alleviate patient respiratory abnormalities.
  • Demonstrates ability to accurately score sleep stages, PLMS, and apnea/ hyponea according to the R & K manual and properly conduct and score multiple sleep latency studies.
  • Maintains proper infection control procedures to assure patient safety and prevent cross-contamination by proper machine maintenance and application techniques.
  • Exhibits good communication skills essential to obtain maximum cooperation from patients, physicians, and co-workers.
  • Continues to improve skills and abilities by attending in-services, reading journals and articles pertaining to the field and attending appropriate seminars.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
Experience:
  • Complete a minimum of 18 months of clinical experience where the duties performed are primarily polysomnography, OR
  • Complete a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience where he duties performed are primarily polysomnography, and the applicant holds a credential in an allied health field accepted by the BRPT (e.g., nursing, respiratory care, electroneurodiagnostics). Applicants MUST submit a copy of a certificate or official correspondence from the credentialing agency with their application.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support, with the American Heart Association (BLS) training completed within 30 days of employment.
  • Registration in polysomnography.
Preferred Position Qualifications:

Education:
  • Coursework/Training - Successful completion of an accredited course in polysomnographic testing.
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent educ/experience
*Education/Experience Equivalencies:
Continued education involving the basic sciences and 1 year experience in hospital setting or an allied health field
