    Optum seeks a Clinical Quality Analyst to ensure quality and patient safety standards are adhered to at Optum's care delivery organizations. The Clinical Quality Analyst will be part of the national Clinical Performance team and will be accountable for achieving results primarily in the Western region of the United States.

    If you are located in California or Washington, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges.

    Primary Responsibilities:
    • Conduct desktop, virtual and on-site surveys to validate adherence to safety standards at Optum's newly acquired and existing care delivery organizations
    • Provide implementation support for safety standards through consultation, training and education at newly acquired and existing care deliver organizations
    • In collaboration with care delivery organizations, develop and drive implementation of remediation plans to resolve non-adherence
    • Validate remediation is complete and sustained
    • Leverage critical thinking and clinical expertise to resolve escalated issues
    • Apply subject matter expertise in the area(s) of patient safety like infection control, medication management, lab services, emergency equipment, environment, and national patient safety goals
    • Conduct quality assurance reviews of surveys to improve interrater reliability efforts

    Required Qualifications:
    • Associate degree
    • 5+ years of experience in clinical setting
    • Current RN license
    • Experience working in a matrixed environment
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
    • Lives in California or Washington
    • Ability to travel up to 75%
    • Valid driver's license
    • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree
    • Infection Control certification
    • Prior experience conducting assessments, surveys or audits
