Location: US:WI:MILWAUKEE at our FROEDTERT HOSPITAL facility.
*1.0 FTE is Full-Time any position less than 1.0 FTE is Part-Time and .001 FTE is Optional Part-Time*
*Positions with an "FTE" (full time equivalency) of .8 - 1.0 are eligible for full-time medical dental and vision benefits. Positions with an "FTE" of .5 - .799 are eligible for part-time pro-rated medical dental and vision benefits*
Shift: Shift 1
Approximately 6:30-3:00 Monday-Friday. Rotating weekend calls and holiday
Serves in the lead capacity for the Ultrasound Department. Requires knowledge of imaging techniques for all areas of ultrasound: OB/GYN Abdominal Small Parts Breast (site specific) Vascular OR and Procedure in accordance with ACR guidelines and department specific policies. Coordinates the workflow for staff and patients staff schedules charge reconciliation ACR and monitors image quality and equipment works closely with staff physicians and other departments to continuously provide and improve service and the organization's quality initiatives. Provides guidance and instruction for Ultrasound students/residents as applicable to assigned site. Serves in a formal preceptor role to onboard new employees. Demonstrates flexibility and assists with scheduling and staffing including weekend holidays and call coverage (where applicable). Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum of three years US experience is required. Five years of US experience is preferred. Graduate or a student in a program accredited by an agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) United States Department of Education (USDOE) or Canadian Medical Association (CMA) that specifically conducts programmatic accreditation for diagnostic medical sonography/diagnostic cardiac sonography/vascular technology. Currently the only organizations that offer programmatic accreditation under the aforementioned associations are the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) and the Canadian Medical Association (CMA).Associate or Bachelors degree in Ultrasound/Sonography is preferred. Substantial training and current clinical experience with ARDMS registry will be accepted. Sonographers must be American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) (AB or OB or RVT). State licensure is not required for dedicated sonographer positions. Dedicated Breast Sonographers must be ARDMS certified in Breast ultrasound and Physics or certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with advanced certification through ARRT in Breast Sonography (BS). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life support for the Healthcare provider (BLS) or an American Heart Association (AHA) approved equivalent is required.
Candidate must be proficient with ultrasound equipment and have knowledge of patient care equipment . Must be able to motivate staff independent thinker good communicator positive attitude creative humble and have a commitment to excellence. Familiarity with McKesson PACS Epic EMR preferred.
