JOB OVERVIEW

The Bar Lead will serve as the supervisory team member responsible for all day-to-day bar operations, as well as supervising the bar team. You will work closely with the restaurant's General Manager with all aspects of the bar, the beverage program concept, and the overall goals of the venue through its initial launch and growth phase. You will report directly to the Assistant General Manager.

Additionally, you will serve as a role model for the venue bar team and will provide daily support, guidance, motivation, and leadership to the team. The objective will be to promote a positive work environment that encourages consistency and accountability, and attracts and retains a diverse talent pool that will continue to keep the restaurant relevant and strengthen the brand as a whole.

Job functions include but are not limited to ensuring successful implementation of system-wide operational protocols as it relates to the bar program. Such as; maintaining a professional appearance and attitude at all times, involvement with on-going training programs, COGS, service flow, beverage procurement procedures, setup/cleanliness of the bar, having an excellent working knowledge of all beverages and food, keeping current with the latest mixology trends, monitor the intake of alcohol to our guests, communicate with guests and respond to feedback positively, ensuring opening/closing checklists adhere to and inventory management.

Reports to: All Managers, with a dotted line to the Assistant General Manager and General Manager

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

The Guest
• Provide genuine, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our guests
• Monitor and observe guests' dining experience to ensure they are satisfied with the food, beverage, and service and respond promptly and courteously to correct any problems
• Complete ownership of all aspects of the bar included but not limited to knowledge of the product, accuracy of all recipes, the integrity of service, and the safety of our guests
• Present menus to guests and answer questions about food menu items, beverages, and other restaurant functions and services
• Describe and recommend wines, cocktails, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages to guests.
• Inform guests of menu changes and daily features, and make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
• Explain to guests how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods.
• Adhere graciously to any food modification requests or allergy concerns
• Prepare bar top for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware.
• Assist host or hostess by answering phones to take reservations or to-go orders and by greeting, seating, and thanking guests.
• Collect payments from guests in a timely fashion, ensuring the accuracy of the bill with integrity


The Property
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and with a team to uphold brand standards
• Provide the highest quality dining experience, all while maintaining the overall appearance of the guest-facing areas of the restaurant.
• Follow all company guidelines and procedures including but not limited to safety and sanitation. Abide by proper cleaning and sanitation procedures, operate equipment in a safe and focused way, and complete any necessary reports while providing exceptional service to ensure a positive and lasting guest impression
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations.
• Execute various side work duties to prepare dining areas for guest service.
• Stock service supplies and alert management if any items are low or out of stock.
• Oversee all guest-facing areas in regards to debris inside and outside the venues
• Set and reset bar top seats, and any applicable as needed and directed by fellow team members and Managers in a fast, efficient way
• Maintain clean floors, furniture, and guest-facing areas before, during, and after guest arrival and departure.
• Maintain clean floors in all Culinary service areas

The Bottom Line
• Observe all restaurant rules and Company policies
• Must abide by shift operating hours as scheduled and assigned by the Restaurant Manager, attending all scheduled employee meetings, and offer suggestions for improvement
• Ensure every item is controlled and held correctly. All product follows FIFO regulations and is at the proper temperature controls.
• Always be guest facing to protect the restaurant from theft and accidents
• Responsible for handling all cash and credit card receipts and turning all receipts into management. All proper reporting accounted for daily.
• Manages and maintains a cash bank accurately. Cash bank audits occur per shift to ensure accurate financials.
