    Clerk III
    Actual starting salary for this position will be $2249.18.
    Works under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager, with considerable latitude for use of initiative and independent judgment, performs advanced (senior-level) technical and specialized clerical work and administrative services to support professional staff. Performs advanced clerical work in areas such as bookkeeping, inventory control, statistics, employment, human resources, purchasing, or accounting. Work involves coordinating clerical activities such as compiling and tabulating data, checking documents for accuracy, handling and transporting documents and/or stock and inventory, and maintaining files. May train others. Work includes data entry and management, statistics, document management and record keeping, general office management, including inventory control and purchasing, travel management, communications and assistance with meeting, conference, employment and human resources. Enters, retrieves, organizes, and manages data, checks documents for accuracy, maintains files, logs and databases, and develops charts, graphs, tables, and statistical reports. Oversees, prepares, edits, and reconciles discrepancies, and reviews for accuracy and completeness reports, purchase orders, correspondence, summaries, manuals, vouchers, requisitions, records, and other related forms. Maintains and manages documents in accordance with agency rules. May post information to agency records and modify internal unit forms or records. Opens and distributes incoming mail, prepares mail-outs, and maintains office schedules and appointments. Orders, maintains, oversees, and distributes files, materials, documents and/or stock, supplies, and inventory. Schedules, prepares, and coordinates travel arrangements for multiple staff and manages all aspects of travel and other reimbursement. Answers phone and appropriately responds or directs inquiries regarding procedures and policies, provides routine information to the public by mail or telephone, and prepares written correspondence for internal and external distribution.
    Schedules, coordinate, and assist with meeting, conferences, and interviews and create, distribute, and maintain minutes as needed. Human resources-Assists manager with maintaining job assignments and schedules, managing timekeeping, and preparing and maintaining activity logs and schedules.

    Essential Job Functions:
    Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned. Enter, retrieve, organize, and manage data, check documents for accuracy, maintain files, logs, and databases, and develop charts, graphs, tables, and statistical reports. (25%) Oversee, prepare, edit, and reconcile discrepancies in, and review for accuracy and completeness reports, purchase orders, correspondence, summaries, manuals, vouchers, requisitions, records, and other related forms. (5%) Schedule, prepare, and coordinate travel arrangements for multiple staff and manage all aspects of travel and other reimbursement. (20%) Maintain job assignments and schedules, assist with managing timekeeping, and prepare and maintain activity logs and schedules. (20%) Open and distribute incoming mail, prepare mail-outs, and maintain office schedules and appointments. Order, maintain, handle, oversee, and distribute files, material, documents and/or stock, supplies, and inventory. (15%) Answer phone and appropriately respond or direct inquiries regarding procedures and policies, provide routine information to the public by mail or telephone, and prepare written correspondence for internal and external distribution. (10%) Schedule, coordinate, and assist with meetings, conferences, and interviews and create, distribute, and maintain minutes as needed (5%).

    Knowledge Skills Abilities:
    Knowledge of office procedures; of spelling, punctuation, grammar, and arithmetic; of business or program terminology, methods, and procedures; of warehousing procedures; of state purchasing policies and procedures; and of records administration and maintenance techniques and procedures.
    Skill in using a personal computer and office equipment.
    Ability to prepare and maintain records, files, and reports; to transfer stock from one location to another; to make arithmetic computations; to communicate effectively; and to train others. Proficient in the use of office equipment and personal computer related Microsoft Office software application.

    None

    Initial Selection Criteria:
    Experience in clerical work. Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is generally preferred. Experience and education may be substituted for one another. Experience using a personal computer for inquiry, data entry and correspondence. Experience developing and maintaining files, records and tracking systems.
