    JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    Postdoctoral position available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Kristin Eckert, Ph.D., Penn State University College of Medicine, Hershey, PA (https://pennstate.pure.elsevier.com/en/persons/kristin-eckert). The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary, NCI-funded research program to discover how human cell DNA polymerases carry out essential synthesis of non-B DNA structures and repetitive DNA sequences genome-wide under conditions of endogenous replication stress, and the mechanisms underlying DNA polymerase orchestration during cancer progression.

    We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated individual with a Ph.D. in biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, or molecular biology, with expertise and experience in the fields of DNA replication/ repair, genome evolution, or cancer etiology. The ideal candidate will have a strong record of peer-reviewed publications and well developed oral and written communication skills. Penn State is home to a vibrant biomedical research community, and the Eckert lab actively collaborates with research groups of the Penn State Center for Medical Genomics and the Penn State Cancer Institute. The Penn State College of Medicine offers substantial postdoctoral professional development programs and postdoctoral salaries at the NIH fellowship scale.
