Construction Laborer

Brayman Construction Corporation is seeking a Construction Laborer to work on our bridge project in Amelia Courthouse, VA. A background in heavy civil construction is a plus. A successful candidate must have a willingness to work hard in the great outdoors in all kinds of weather and be willing to listen to and follow directions.

A Day in the Life of the Construction Laborer

As a Construction Laborer at Brayman Construction, you will be working alongside and assisting skilled workers, handling material of all types and operating equipment. It will be your responsibility to assist with keeping the job site clean and safe. As the title implies, you will be carrying out a variety of labor related duties.

This project consists of replacing two parallel bridges along route 360 through Amelia. Notable work items include, but are not limited to, roadway detour installation, demo of steel and concrete structures, installation of temporary and permanent sheet piling, MSE wall installation and backfill, steel erection, and concrete placement. Work started recently (Fall of 2020) and the contract completion is scheduled for June of 2022.

Job Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities of the Construction Laborer:

• Strong work ethic is a must.
• Ability to listen to, understand, and follow directions.
• Ability to remain flexible as specific assignments change.
• Ability to work with a variety of personalities.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic as needed to count and take inventory.
• Must be able to pass a background screening in addition to DOT Drug Testing.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior job experience in Construction.
• Recent work history.
