The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is patient, kind, organized, energetic and a team player. Assisted Living Concierge candidates should be encouraging to residents so they want to attend activities but will also need to be respectful of their right to decline. This position will involve assistance with activities and reception responsibilities as needed within the Assisted Living. This position will report to the Administrator, Director of Activities and Assisted/Independent Living Manager, and by applying for the position you recognize that nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties or responsibilities to this job at any time. You may be asked to help in other areas of the building as needed for the optimal performance of your building/department and the well-being of our residents.

Essential Job Functions

As an Assisted Living Concierge in a Grace Management Services facility you must be able to perform the following essential functions as demonstrated by the ability to:
  • Communicate promptly and clearly on the telephone, via e-mail and in person.
  • Handle all emergency situations in a calm, effective manner.
  • Page for fire drills and account for all residents.
  • Plan, schedule and implement a program of individual and group activities based on residents' needs and interests.
  • Communicate facility programs with residents, staff, family and volunteers.
  • Plan and coordinate weekend and evening activities as needed per residents' interests.
  • Provide materials/supplies necessary for successful independent programming.
  • Complete required documentation as assigned.
  • Plan and coordinate weekend and evening activities as needed per residents' interests.
  • Be flexible and creative to reprogram an unsuccessful program or one that has been cancelled.
  • Encourage residents to attend activities provided, but respect the right of each resident to decline.
  • Attend and contribute to recreation department meetings.
  • Provide a safe environment by keeping recreational areas free of debris.
  • Assist in transporting residents to and from activities.
  • Understand, organize and complete tasks as assigned by supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Work with volunteers as assigned by Activities Director (Life Enrichment Director), assist in the recruitment, orientation, training, communication and recognition of volunteers.
  • Comply with state and federal regulations and facility policies regarding recreation programs.
  • Observe infection control procedures related to the recreation program.
  • Follow OSHA regulations as they pertain to the Activities Department.
  • Attend in-service training programs for activity employees.
  • Perform QMA duties as outlined in the QMA job description as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Recreation Director, Administrator, and/or Assisted/Independent Living Manager.
Job Qualifications
  • Must be able to practice as a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA), High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
  • All candidates must be proficient in basic computer programs and must be able to correspond timely through e-mail or other forms of technical communication as needed to successfully complete the requirements for this job. Employees are required to complete monthly on-line education courses to keep our team members knowledgeable on the latest information and regulations. Must be able to balance, climb, crouch, grasp, kneel, pull, push, reach, stand and stoop adequately to perform the essential functions of the job.
Must be able to hear, smell, feel and speak adequately to perform the essential functions of the job.
Must be able to read and write the English language.
Must be able to work inside and outside with exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
