GLOBALFOUNDRIES Fab 9 is seeking a skilled and motivated 2020 and 2021 high school graduates to participate in the GLOBALFOUNDRIES Technician Program with Vermont Technical College. In order to be selected for the program, successful candidates must pass through an extensive panel interview process and pre-testing (math) in order to be considered. Candidates will be expected to work full-time while attending one Vermont Technical College course per semester, for 3 semesters per year. The program consists of 9 total Vermont Technical College Technical Courses all paid for by GLOBALFOUNDRIES and 9 Internal Courses to teach lean manufacturing and equipment based applications. Candidates accepted into this program, with successful completion, and satisfactory performance, will receive a certificate of completion, and will attain ~ 34 credits towards a 2 year Associates Degree in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines. Opportunities exists to continue education through GLOBALFOUNDRIES Tuition Reimbursement Program.
A candidate will be performing preventive and first call maintenance to support semiconductor equipment and its support equipment. Ability to execute and perform Quality Standard Work and provide leadership in continuous improvement to improve equipment productivity. This person needs to be flexible and dependable in order to meet business demands on the equipment. This position is in the 200mm factory in Essex Jct., Vermont. Technician positions are hourly shift positions working a compressed week of 12-hour shifts. GLOBALFOUNDRIES is a 24/7 manufacturing facility providing technician support across all shifts.
Successful Manufacturing Support Technicians are self-motivated and work effectively in team or individual situations; demonstrates flexibility with regard to assignments, overtime, and work area.
