POSTION SUMMARY: The Buyer / Purchasing Analyst is responsible for managing assigned commodities for the company and ensures parts are ordered and delivered on time to prevent disruption from the production line. This position will be accountable for handling all requisitions and purchasing parts from approved Suppliers while maintaining good working relationships both internally and externally. The candidate for this role will need to work closely with the Purchasing Team and the Production Teams.
RESPONSIBILITES: • Handles all Purchase Requisitions for the Company • Submits RFQ’s for best pricing on all parts requested • Make runs to Suppliers for hot parts daily as needed • Maintains Metrics tracking for the Purchasing Department • Run and Maintain Open Order Reports • Assists with implementation of Kanban systems • Creating New Vendor in ERP system and negotiates terms as needed • Reconcile all invoice discrepancies for assigned Suppliers. Works closely with Finance and Accounting Departments to coordinate. • Review and correct any receiving discrepancies and act as liaison between receiving personnel and Suppliers • Assists Buyers with Vendor Returns and Credit Tracking • Assists Buyers with Expediting as needed
MEASUREABLES: • Ability to Source and locate parts needed for production • Ability to follow up on all requested parts for internal customers • Annual cost savings projects • Past Due P.O’s for assigned Vendors • Timely response with Production and maintaining good working relationships with internal customers • Contribution to a Continuous Improvement Environment
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED 1-3 years experience purchasing in a manufacturing environment High attention to detail Must be able to stay focused on task Self-starter Can work independently as well as with a team Ability to multi-task Bachelors Degree in Business or Engineering Must be flexible with overtime and working Saturdays as needed. Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
