OVERVIEW: The Chemical and Biological Defense Legislative Analyst supports the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Chemical and Biological Defense (ODASD(CBD)) by providing technical review and analysis of all chemical and biological defense Congressional-related actions. This position is located in the Pentagon. Support will involve a wide range of activities, to include: * Reviewing current congressional language, budget marks, and assist in preparing reports regarding each CBDP or CBDP-related mission area; * Providing technical support for clients responses to Congressional staffers requests for information; * Assisting in gathering information in preparation for governments representatives congressional testimony and responses to congressional questions for the record and effectively maintaining all records and correspondence associated with these actions, as related to CBDP activities; * Providing analytic support for development of the CBDP Annual Report to Congress (ARC), and other congressionally required reports; * Coordinating agendas, invitations, minutes, and action item tracking for CBDP congressional staffer days; * Drafting CBDP overview briefings for client presentation to congressional staff members; * Assisting with Congressional, DoD Office of the Inspector General (OIG), and General Accountability Office (GAO) actions; and * Providing an annual report summarizing authorization and appropriation actions and trends after the fiscal year Congressional budget cycle is complete and a final appropriations bill is published. EDUCATION, SKILLS, & YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: The following education, skills, and experiences are required for this position: * Five years of experience and a bachelors degree in public policy, political science, or a related field is required. * Must possess the minimum of an active SECRET security clearance. * Prior experience as a legislative analyst is highly desirable. * Prior experience with the Chemical and Biological Defense Program is highly desirable. * Recent experience with the DoD Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS) system is highly desirable. * Defense Acquisition University Acquisition 101 and 201 is highly desirable.
