Job Description ASRC Federal is a premier provider of systems engineering, software engineering, system integration, and project management services for real-time, mission-critical defense systems. We are seeking highly motivated Software Tester / Quality Assurance Specialist to support an agile software development project for the US Navy. Responsibilities: Work in a collaborative team providing Integration and Test support for the development and sustainment of Mission Critical Real-Time Systems, performing the following tasks: * Operate using Agile software delivery methodology.
* Ensuring the development and maintenance of regression test suites.
* Analyzing requirements for integration and/or testability issues.
* Support continuous improvement by refining our testing process.
* Work within a cross-functional development team of 3 to 15 engineers.
* Develop or update manual system level test plans and test procedures along with associated regression test plans and procedures. * Performing all aspects of verification: functional, structural, regression, and system testing (manual and automated testing).
* Review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts).
* Partnering with Scrum Master to drive continuous improvement within the Agile team.
* Assemble the solution / product elements in a logical and controlled manner to evaluate the design, behavior, interactions and performance, and to confirm that the requirements against which the solution / product has been designed are fulfilled.
* Develop automation scripts and work in staging and integration test environments and, when needed, troubleshoot production issues to identify root cause and enhance the testing automation suite.
* Manage and maintain automated testing frameworks. . Desirable Experience: * Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Computer Science, Math or Physics, with technical management experience) or equivalent related work experience.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development and/or testing software.
* Minimum of 1 year of experience in software development, Quality Assurance, Configuration Management
* Excellent and communication skills required.
* Strong understanding of where QA (System Test) fits within the SDLC.
* Enthusiastic about building test suites and tools that automate processes.
* Ability to take on projects and operate with minimal oversight desired.
* Experience in writing detailed Manual test cases and executing in an embedded hardware/software environment for a real-time mission critical weapon system.
* Experience in writing automated tests, including writing programs/scripts using Python, Java, C++, other high level programming languages
* Experience with Black Box and White Box testing
* Experience with automated test and performance evaluation strategies for microservices * Acquainted with Jenkins or similar continuous integration software.
* Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Automated Test methodologies. * Understanding of SDLC principles and Agile Methodologies utilizing JIRA framework.
* Experience working with and communicating effectively with development teams.
* Working knowledge of ClearCase/ClearQuest or equivalent Source Code Management System
* Experience creating and evaluating corrective action reports
* Experience interfacing with internal/external customers to resolve quality issues
* Experience in executing process evaluations
* Strong skills with MS Office. * Experience with issue and bug tracking tool (i.e. JIRA) * Must have ability to * Provide excellent customer service
* Coordinate several concurrent tasks
* Interface with users in a pleasant and tactful manner
* Be self-motivated
* Quickly learn new technologies
* Occasionally work non-standard hours as required
