    We are seeking a highly motivated detailed oriented individual to serve as a Research Associate/ Senior Research Associate who will assist in evaluating immune responses in animal, generation and characterization of monoclonal antibodies. The selected candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of this program which includes generation of hybridomas, antibody screening, developing and performing cell based assays and characterization of monoclonal antibodies. This will involve extensive hands on laboratory work, planning and data analysis. This position will be located at our Gaithersburg, MD facility and will report to a Scientist in the Antibody Discovery, Vaccine l Development department.

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Evaluate immune response generated by vaccine candidate in mice.
    • Hybridoma Fusion, screening and clone selection including cloning and expansion.
    • Perform antibody characterization by molecular, immunological and virological assays such as ELISA, neutralization assay and Western blot analysis.
    • Ability to plan and work independently with minimal supervision
    • Assisting supervisor in data analysis.
    • General lab organization and maintenance including equipment maintenance and calibration; cost-effective management of material and reagent inventories.
    • Other responsibilities may be require during project studies.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • BS or MS in Biology/ Biochemistry or related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years' experience with BS degree, 2 years for Master's degree in research, or pharmaceutical and/or vaccine development field.
    • Experience in Hybridoma and mammalian cell culture required.
    • Knowledge and experience with monoclonal antibody technology desired.
    • Experience with cell based assays, ELISA and Western blotting techniques.
    • Excellent verbal, written communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work independently on project with minimal supervision.
    • Good Computer skills and experience with relevant software such as Softmax, Excel, PowerPoint, and PRISM.
