    Summary:

    The Regional Director of Human Resources is responsible for the successful operations of the Human Resources (HR) departments; working independently to provide support in planning, development, organization, implementation, and evaluation of all Human Resources functions and activities across all facilities.

     

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    ·       Monitors and ensures compliance with HR policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidance

    ·       Implement company culture, values, and policies

    ·       Develop workforce strategies, to recruit and develop qualified candidates

    ·       Coordinate events focused on employee recognition and dedication

    ·       Advocate for employee retention and development

    ·       Maintain consistent standards across each facility

    ·       Ensures proper recordkeeping measures are implemented and adhered to for the HR Department, to include all employee files maintained both in physical and digital formats

    ·       Conduct audits on employee licenses and certifications to ensure that no required licenses become expired, submitting renewal documentation when required

    ·       May be asked to conduct and/or coordinate general staff training requirements, as required

    ·       Ensures that all tracking requirements for the state are being followed appropriately

    ·       Ensures all proper federal and state employment notices are current and posted properly in an area in which all employees will be able to see the post(s)

    ·       May be required to adjust employee timecard records, as required

    ·       Routinely works with various department heads to ensure that all hours worked are accurately reflected within payroll software

    ·       Report hours worked in accordance with state regulations; print and distribute prior ‘hours worked’ report(s) for state surveyors

    ·       Responsible for talent acquisition, development, and employee retention

    ·       Coordinate between Department heads/hiring managers and candidate(s) to schedule and conduct interviews; may be required to conduct interviews in the absence of the department head/hiring managers

    ·       Conducts onboarding tasks such as ensuring fingerprint scan and background check is complete; may also be tasked with conducting and/or receiving drug screening results for new hires

    ·       Facilitate new hire orientation

    ·       Provide oversight to ensure all appropriate employee evaluations are being conducted/completed properly and in a timely manner

    ·       Ensures that proper investigations are conducted with all findings documented in instances of any work-related injuries

    ·       Coordinate and oversee reporting of Workers’ Compensation events and claims, as required

    ·       Provides timely and accurate information to Worker’s Compensation adjustors

    ·       Communicates in an effective and timely manner with the facility administrators and/or Director of Nursing (DON) regarding observations, operational issues, and employee feedback

    ·       Maintain confidentiality of resident and facility records and information

     

     

    Qualifications:

    ·       Must be at least 21 years of age and be able to pass a background check

    ·       Minimum of 2 years of experience in Human Resources with completion of an associate’s degree or higher in Human Resources or related fields. A minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources may be considered in lieu of degree requirements

    ·       HR certification such as PRH, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred but not required

    ·       Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job

    ·       Must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents and families and work cooperatively with other associates

    ·       Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance

    ·       Experience in conflict resolution

    ·       Fundamental knowledge of labor and employment laws

    ·       Ability to build rapport with all employees

    ·       Strong leadership qualities

    ·       Must have excellent communications skills in both individual and group settings

    ·       Experience in a Long-Term Care environment preferred

    ·       Paycom experience preferred

    Physical and Mental Requirements:

    ·       Genuine interest and compassion for caring for elderly and disabled people within a long-term care setting

    ·       Must be able to lift, bend, climb, reach, push, and pull as required

    ·       Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm

    ·       Must be willing and capable to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning

    ·       Must be able to utilize active listening and deductive reasoning skills

    ·       Strong attention to detail, documentation, and resident assessment skills
