Overview
The Surgical Oncology RN helps adult surgical-oncology patients, most with gynecologic or colorectal disease. Includes chemotherapy, radiation, and end-of-life care. Bed Capacity: 26. Provides care to adult gynecology, oncology, colorectal and plastic surgery patients. Manages complex medication and infusion therapies. Care for patient undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures/interventions on the unit.
Responsibilities/Job Description
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
Qualifications
Required:- MN RN License
- BLS required
- AD required
Preferred:- BSN or higher preferred
- Certification in related specialty is highly desired
- One year current oncology experience is preferred
- One year of current medical/surgical RN experience in a hospital setting is desired
