SUMMARY: Under general direction, the Data and Compliance Specialist is responsible for overseeing compliance with all Advanced & Gifted programs as well as collecting, analyzing and interpreting data as it relates to individual student achievement and to the overall academic performance of students participating in the Advanced & Gifted programs in an online environment. The Advanced & Gifted Compliance Specialist will apply appropriate statistical measurements to data, review school and state data to develop comparison trends, and design and develop reports as requested for internal and external stakeholder reporting. This role provides oversight of the school's gifted state funding reporting to ensure compliance with federal, state, and school laws, regulations, policies, and procedures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and scope of work being performed by this position. Assist with analyzing local, state, and national assessment data as it relates to individual student and school performance, as well as district improvement, focused on advanced & gifted students. Responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential data files and will work to support data analysis training for teachers and administrators in the use of data to improve instruction and student learning outcomes. Collaborates with leadership and teachers regarding the eligibility and compliance processes. Monitors and supports the school's compliance to timelines. Audits and verifies receipt of Gifted Eligibility documentation and verifies coding and students related to FTE counts. Apply appropriate statistical measurements to data; review school and state data to develop comparison trends; and design and develop reports as requested for internal and external stakeholder reporting. Provides support and guidance to district staff and helps manage the learning process by utilizing data to focus on students' individual needs. Creates spreadsheets to disaggregate data based on student subgroup, grade level, and school performance. Compiles data from multiple sources to develop teacher, student, school and/or district achievement profiles. Attends department, school, and district required meetings. Attends, as necessary and appropriate, training sessions/conferences related to assigned responsibilities to effectively use data to inform school improvement initiatives. Creates schedules for student evaluations and meetings as directed. Compiles and audit gifted eligibility records for newly enrolling and newly identified students and maintain GEM database. Creates monthly Advanced & Gifted newsletters for all stakeholders. Review/Monitor gifted student achievement through DDI Process Train gifted faculty on DDI Processes and applicable dashboards Organize and facilitates data days for gifted faculty and staff Monitor school and gifted department progress toward their goals Provide gifted assessment data, completion, & analysis Provide gifted students grade reports and analysis Monitor gifted students' contact log data & analysis Monitor gifted students' attendance & engagement level data Provide additional gifted reports and/or analysis upon request Participates in state, gifted, and PSAT, SAT, ACT, and AP testing as requested Cross functional duties may include assisting with Test Monitoring and assisting with Records & Enrollment processes as directed Other duties as assigned by the Advanced & Gifted Assistant Director. MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, Statistics & Analysis, or related field of study AND Three (3) years' experience in data compilation and analysis AND Three (4) years' gifted teaching experience OR Equivalent combination of education and experience CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES: desired Advanced Degree in Statistics and Analysis or related field of study GA PSC Teaching/Educational Certificate Gifted Endorsement/Certification TKES/LKES credentialed Clear Fingerprint/Background Check Required OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to read and interpret student academic data and educational reports Proficient/Advanced data analysis skills Pedagogical knowledge content being taught and ability to apply critical thinking Understanding of interdependency of deadlines on multiple projects and able to act to preserve integrity on other people's deadlines Ability to work independently typically 40+ hours per week Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in all school systems, programs, and curriculum as applicable Knowledge of state and federal laws, and other pertinent laws regarding K-12 Education as they relate to applicable duties Ability to communicate well with school personnel, parents, students, and office staff while complying with the confidentiality requirements in local, state, and federal policies Experience working with diverse student populations Ability to inspire teachers and school staff to meet school improvement initiatives and goals Ability to display a professional attitude in working with school personnel with parents Must be an advocate for virtual learning and believe in the mission of Georgia Cyber Academy Must be able to manage large volumes of paperwork and maintain adequate records General knowledge of computers, computer commands, peripherals, and various operating systems.
