    Under general supervision, the Database Manager will be responsible for project management of the build out, execution of, and maintenance of Urban Peak’s new Salesforce database. Additionally, this position will support the Manager of Program Evaluation with current management of the HMIS/UPMIS (Homeless Management Information System/Urban Peak Management Information System) used to collect client-level data and the service delivery to youth and young adults experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.




    • A Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, computer science, or a related field.; four (4) years’ experience developing and executing data and information driven strategies and projects, flat file transfers, data analysis and data manipulation (charting, dashboards, etc.), or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
    • Lived experience reflective of the youth we serve encouraged but not required, to include:
      1. Lived experience of working through substance use, mental health, and/or physical health barriers, or experienced homelessness
    • Experience with the Homeless Management Information System and/or Salesforce databases preferred
    • Disciplined, structured and data driven approach to decision making and problem solving with a sharp focus on metrics, outcomes and results, preferably in a not-for-profit or human services organization
    • Deep commitment to the use of evaluation to achieve and communicate results; ability to provide meaningful and constructive feedback on outcomes, logic models indictors, etc.; passionate about program excellence and the power of data
    • Expert communicator: able to communicate results (orally and in writing) in a clear, effective manner for various audiences (internal/external; technical/)
    • Deep creativity and an ability to use data to uncover nontechnical potential opportunities for growth and innovation across all programs
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, meet multiple concurrent deadlines, organize time and priorities and work well as a collaborative team member
    • An exceptionally high level of integrity, trust, accountability and superior judgment
    • Experience managing complex projects with excellent project management skills, strong organizational and time management skills and exceptional attention to detail
    • Excellent information management and computer skills, including strong skills with spreadsheets, relational databases, presentation software and the ability to organize and analyze complex data sets
    • Excellent strategic thinking skills with the ability to operationalize concepts and transform ideas into action as well as apply research findings to ongoing program development
    • Must be computer proficient and possess experience of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
    • Understanding of the provision of and commitment to trauma informed care and positive youth development
    • Must be insurable as a driver on Urban Peak’s auto liability policy to transport youth using an Urban Peak vehicle and an approved personal vehicle
    • Must pass both federal and state background checks
    • Must pass pre-employment TB screening
    • Project management for creation of new Salesforce database including coordination of stakeholders, correspondence with contractors/partners, and ensuring fidelity to project plan
    • Database administrator for Urban Peak’s Salesforce database and the lead on the Homeless Management Information System
    • Responsible for data quality and completeness in HMIS
    • Responsible for program data collection, usage, and storage meets compliance and agency standards
    • Responsible for HMIS/UPMIS trainings for employees
    • Ensure data quality; field staff questions and troubleshoot issues with data entry
    • Act as main point of contact for Salesforce Premier Support team 
    • Support Manager of Program Evaluation in generating, preparing evaluation and grant reports
    • Assist with ongoing audit of agency’s client/program database to ensure compliance and accuracy of data and coordinate with programs to correct and maintain quality data  
    • Maintain, update or develop HMIS forms and training materials as needed
    • Assist with managing HMIS and Salesforce technical tickets
    • Assist in identifying opportunities for improvement and system enhancements to further support data collection, report generation and overall data access
    • Maintain confidentiality of client, employee and agency information in accordance with federal and state laws and funder requirements.



    This is a full time position. The typical work schedule is Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  This position may require some weekends and/or evenings to support the needs of the agency.

    • Support  positive youth development and youth involvement in decision-making processes 
    • Perform all tasks and responsibilities in a manner that delivers culturally competent programming


    • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position, as well as move about in and out of the office; operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as copy machine and computer printer, etc.; and occasionally position self to reach under or behind a desk 
    • Constantly have manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
    • The person in this position frequently communicates with Clients who have inquiries. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
    • Constantly operates department equipment, such as telephones, personal computers, adding machines, copiers, fax machines, etc. Position constantly has use of computer and phone.
    • Constantly works with youth off-site at designated locations as needed.
    • Must be able to move about and remain mobile up to 10 hours per day.
    • Move, transport, position, put, install, or remove items weighing up to 50 pounds for various agency or event needs.




    The salary range for this position is $55,000.00 to $65,000.00.
