Join Our Community of Food People!The Bid Account Manager promotes and sells company products through direct contact with assigned customer accounts. Schedules sales calls and submits reports of sales activities. Identifies prospective customers and compiles information on competitive products. This position is characterized by a sustained record of sales achievement and complete knowledge of the organization's policies, products and/or services. Works with customers to provide proper forecasting during menu planning for the school year including key events such as school wind down, summer feeding, and opening orders.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Accountable for preparing bids to achieve sales and profit goals for the division (both schools and other non-profit institutions).Conduct negotiations and establish contractual agreements with outside vendors to maximize positive results.Manage the order process to ensure all bid orders and credits are entered accurately in a timely manner, changes are completed based on customer requirement and customer satisfaction is maintained.Ensure all pricing programs are setup/entered accurately and timely for tracking/secure.Vendor contract documentation with new item requests and productmovement communicated to Purchasing.Maintain Accounts Receivable of 94% current or higher.Establish and meet service level expectations for the customers' needs.Maintain existing accounts through personal or virtual visits and follow-up on a systematic basis.Travel requiredDevelop relationships with existing and potential accounts through personal visits, trade shows, conventions, and seminars.Manage proprietary inventory needs, identify delivery requirements, and track operational service levels.Utilize US Foods CRM-SOUS tool for record keeping and communication.May include other duties as assigned.Qualifications Education: High School diploma with minimum of three years relevant experience required.Bachelor's Degree PreferredExperience: Minimum 5 years foodservice bid and/or purchasing experience required; prior management experience preferred Special Knowledge: Understanding/working knowledge of bid process and nutritional guidelines for school lunch programs.Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Knowledge of foodservice distribution and educational institution foodservice businessSpecial Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills with proven presentation skillsTravel Requirement: Must be willing to travel in the local geographic area up to 25%, post-COVID
