**CONTINGENT ON CONTRACT AWARD** Job Title: Network Operations Lead Job Description: Network Services: (T&M): Provide support to all AFRL/RIOS unclassified and classified networks to both wired and wireless, to include the operation, maintenance, new installations and configurations of the network equipment. Responsibilities: * Provide Network and System Engineering to improve customer service, system performance, and reliability for the AFRL/RI Networks and Systems. AFRL/RI requires the following capabilities for the networks: * System Availability and responsiveness * Adaptability * Collaboration capable * Redundancy * Survivability * Scalability * Maintainability. * Provide O&M support for AFRL/RIOS network equipment, software, and monitoring tools. Provide Network SME for all aspects of the AFRL/RI network infrastructure. Perform preventive maintenance. Document all reported incidents, problems, security incidents and requests using AF Enterprise IT (Information Technology) Service Management (EITSM) Remedy and other systems. Troubleshooting Incidents & Problem tickets. Execute root cause analysis for Problem tickets. Coordinate with OEM and vendors for warranty and maintenance. Remove and dispose of failed or EOL equipment (coordinate with ADPE EC for proper disposal and accounting for equipment). Implement TCNOs, NOTAMs, MTOs ' (Per TO 00-33A- 1001). Troubleshoot supported application issues. * Recommend network and process improvements. Monitor network equipment performance with tools such as Solarwinds. Monitor external network boundary connections. Monitor bandwidth utilization and report at Task Advisory Board (TAB). Internet Protocol (IP) address management. Create new, and update existing network drawings, rack elevations in programs such as MS Visio. Support Virtual Private Networks (VPN's) on the unclassified network enclaves. Execute DISA STIG's, TCNO's, MTO's and local job guides when configuring network devices. Provide OS firmware upgrades. Manage network edge devices for AFRL/RI networks to include OS upgrades. Implementing exceptions to rule sets and ACLs. Configuration of OS, routing and security features, to include traffic directed through IPS module and IPS updates. Troubleshoot all traffic issues that involve boundary crossing. Ensure all network devices are secured, operated and maintained in accordance with applicable DISA STIGs and IAVAs and AF TCNO as applicable. Provide applicable oversight authority, in troubleshooting traffic/pass thru issues on Palo Alto firewalls, and other border type equipment, on one of two unclassified networks (read-only accounts are provided). * Provide hands on maintenance as instructed by 83 NOS (or AFNET applicable oversight authority). Troubleshoot traffic/pass thru issues on firewall for classified network as instructed by 83 NOS (or AFNET applicable oversight authority) . Submit trouble tickets and change requests for issues/modification on devices owned by 83 NOS (or AFNET applicable oversight authority) on unclassified and classified networks. Provide guidance to Change Sponsor (CS) and customers on boundary questions and security practices for the boundary. Assist CS and customer base with mission and enclave Ports, Protocols, and Services (PPS) and network maps for accreditation packages. Coordinate any/all boundary outages, issues, changes and maintenance (scheduled or not) with the proper external authorities to include DISA, 83 NOS and 26 NOS (or AFNET applicable oversight authority). This includes any intrusions or possible intrusions. Ensure all boundary services are up and running properly every morning. Ensure process is in place to review logs of boundary. Monitor and manage AFRL/RI networks with unified visibility into fault, performance, availability, traffic, and configurations. Analyze network syslog services to identify network issues, conduct event management alerting when specific log patterns are detected. This goal is increased security and awareness of network infrastructure problems, services and fast detection of network outages. Provide engineer network related solutions for ongoing and future O&M, system upgrade or replacement, or downward directed projects as assigned. Assist AFRL/RIOS Government leads to validate cross department solutions including projects and initiatives presented by the AFRL/RI research and development teams. * Maintain network hardware. Manage warranty and EOL status.
Provide recommendations for hardware and software purchases (budget inputs, end of year funding proposals, EOL refresh, technology refreshes, upgrades/enhancements, and warranty service and maintenance service contracts). * Maintain and monitor network security, and device passwords. * Maintain and manage 802.1x Cisco ISE on all managed networks. * Maintain and execute IAVA/TCNO compliance. Qualifications: * Maintain network documentation and drawings; network topology; rack elevations.. Maintain and create Network Policies and Procedures, IAW AF instructions and MICT requirements to be validated and approved by Government lead. Support network related incident and problem tickets.. Maintain and manage Access Control System (ACS) servers. Provide Virtual Machine (VM) monitoring of virtual environment to locate the source of potential issues and current problems. Provide performance charts - performance data on a variety of system resources including Central Processing Unit (CPU), Memory, and Storage. Host health ' monitor hosts health and indicate any hosts that are experiencing problems. Storage maps and charts ' provide looks at storage resources. Events, alerts, and alarms ' establish notifications and specify actions the system should take when they are triggered. Monitor system log files ' monitor information about activities in VM environment. Notify ADPE custodian when equipment relocates, becomes obsolete or when has Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA). Maintain asset inventory list, to include location, warranty, service, EOL. Provide Network SME's report monthly for all opened warranty and contracted service request. Maintain and manage Secure Sync network time protocol appliances. Provide full-spectrum Network support to the organization and customers. Provide immediate reaction and continuous awareness/communication of outages and degradations. Provide timely communication with customers and staff (updates, training, feedback, troubleshooting). Provides support in all areas of project requirements. Certifications Required: Security+, CCNA (E) Education: Bachelor's degree, Education requirement may be waived for exceptionally qualified personnel.
