POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for supporting automotive business development strategy. This position will be responsible for cost model RFQ analysis support to both internal and external customers regarding technical estimating, creating and developing innovative ways to produce parts with achievable, profitable processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. There are many necessary activities to satisfy any of the following performance guidelines. Understand and exhibit support of Alexandria Industries' purpose and values to increase customer satisfaction of assigned customer base. Understands all aspects of automotive development from initial concept to production with a proven history of impact in product development. Work and communicate directly with customers to clarify issues regarding prints, specifications and any other customer needs, requests, or requirements. Prepare technical cost analysis from early designs, extrapolate conclusions, and drive innovative solutions to improve profitability considering specifications, cost, manufacturability, and quality perspectives. Ensure all technical information and CTQ, CTS, CTF are translated to ensure manufacturing requirements can meet design intent. Work with approved suppliers to secure pricing for outside services and components. Work with Purchasing and Quality when evaluating, considering new suppliers. Conduct, cross-functional quality, engineering, manufacturing review meetings to ensure successful hand-off, ensure requirements can be meet, and fully understood. Participate in continuous improvement meetings to improve launch process lessons learned. Provide support to Account Specialists and Sales department in regard to manufacturing processes. Use CATIA and CAD/CAM software to assist in getting information needed in generating a quotation, and creation of manufacturing prints. Partner with the engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve quality questions or concerns at prototype, release candidate phase. Understand past critical cost saving measures across and ensure implementation to future automotive opportunities. Create reports and use production history data to assure process effectiveness. Work with manufacturing engineering team to identify opportunities for improving cell operations and company profitability. Create profitable processes for value added quoting opportunities that are achievable and efficient. Automotive Market: Work with assigned project manager to develop project scopes and gather information from team members to build manufacturing concepts, using innovative approaches for automotive opportunities. Establish cell costing for the manufacturing concept including flow rates, hours used, equipment needed, logistics, and labor capacity. Work with project manager to compile and submit capital requests, including risk assessments Understand market requirements and the approach to those markets Manage automotive projects within the responsibilities of the QROC department Develop and maintain measurements for the automotive market Work with quality team to create and maintain ISO documentation related to the automotive market OTHER JOB DUTIES: (Not considered essential to the job) Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering degree required. Experience: 4+ years of manufacturing experience Preferred experience in aluminum extrusion 5+ years of automotive experience required Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong knowledge in IATF 16949 Strong knowledge of a variety of manufacturing processes in the areas of machining, fabrication, forming/bending. Strong computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, A.I. computer systems) Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills Excellent math skills Ability to work minimal supervision.
