Resident Director Job Number Full/Part Time Schedule Salary 22857421 Full Time 8AM - 5PM $45,300 - $89,400 Position Information The Resident Director (RD) is a full-time, 12-month, live-in position and serves as a member of the Residence Life Professional team. The position plays a pivotal role in the building of community within the residence halls and campus apartments. The RD is responsible for resident orientation to community living; resident counseling; policy enforcement and adjudication; day and night on-site crisis response; student programming; student staff recruitment, selection, training and evaluation; housing management and special projects. PLEASE NOTE: This is a four (4) year contract appointment with the possibility to be extended for one (1) additional year for a maximum total of five (5) years. Minimum Requirements Thorough knowledge of advising and counseling techniques.
Abilities in project management, problem identification and reasoning skills.
Ability to develop original ideas to solve problems.
Strong knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
Knowledge of student conduct administration best practices and ability to independently process and adjudicate student conduct cases.
Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance.
Knowledge, skills & abilities to manage crisis and emergency situations.
Knowledge of University processes and procedures.
Thorough knowledge of Student Affairs/Student Life specialization.
Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated understanding of student development theories and practices.
