Business Development Associate


Overview of Position
The Partner Sales Executive is responsible for recruiting, negotiating, developing, and executing platform partnerships with early-stage digital health startups. An essential aspect of this position is to make recommendations on Change Healthcare API products that best fit their solution and roadmap, assist product and engineering contacts with testing, and working with business owners to sign up for API’s and/or our app registry. Additionally, you’ll be looking out for data solutions and technology enabled solution opportunities and make referrals to the appropriate team members.


What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for selling Change Healthcare API’s to assigned digital health startups across the United States – high volume sales role, typically 80 to 100 sales transactions per year

  • Establishes contact with founders, engineering and product leadership, and developers within prospective partners to determine partnership fit

  • Conveys and demonstrates a detailed knowledge of functionality, features and benefits of Change Healthcare API’s

  • Presents and articulates opportunities/problem statement, value proposition and solution to prospects

  • Maintains deep understanding of solution set and resources for our partners

  • Prepares weekly sales forecasts, account status reports, and recommendations to enhance account growth and revenue potential

  • Builds peer support and strong internal-company relationships with other key management staff and collaborates with our marketplace team to increase digital contracting and partner app registrations

  • Attends networking events and other forums that are relevant to the buying decision-maker audience

Secondary Responsibilities

  • Quarterbacks deal support from various Change Healthcare and external partners required for demos, opportunity assessments, technical sales support, etc.

  • Provisioning of sales reports and prospect reports

  • Identifies cross-selling opportunities within accounts

  • Maintains Change Healthcare’s CRM system with detailed partner information


What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college or related and equivalent experience

  • One (1) or more years in either a technical business-to-business sales role or sales engineering capacity

  • Highly skilled in successfully managing the entire business development process, from discovery to ongoing relationship management with a proven track record in technical sales or use case engineering

  • Working knowledge of healthcare information systems with broad knowledge and expertise in the Healthcare Information Technology market sector

  • New business sales acumen (hunter vs. farmer)

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to operate in positions requiring significant self-direction and motivation

  • The ability to build relationships across the organization and collaborate as necessary to accomplish goals

  • Ability to maintain SME level industry and product knowledge

  • General knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of Salesforce is preferred

  • Physical requirements include general office demands

How much should I expect to travel?

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of time
