Institutional Account Manager, Highland Capital Brokerage

Summary:

We are seeking an Institutional Account Manager to join the team within Highland Capital Brokerage, a member of Advisor Group.  This position will report directly to the VP of Institutional Distribution, this position is responsible for being a primary relationship manager with Highlands institutional B2B customers; coordinating and leading institutional projects & processes with other key stakeholders, including Distribution, Operations, Commissions, Broker Contracting, New Business, Legal/Compliance, Marketing, and IT teams.

Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Relationship management and contact for all Highland institutional customers as well as a primary contact for the HCB field
  • Coordinate, lead, and report on institutional processes & projects (e.g. bringing on a new account or working with IT and our analysts to develop an institutional database)
  • Drive institutional revenue and monitor, track and report on production goals for each account
  • Develop potential new account value proposition presentations
  • Coordinate the financial institution due diligence requirements that include annual certifications and audits as well as assist with new account request for proposals
  • Work closely with the VP of Institutional Distribution and team to execute tactical functions that are derived from the strategic initiatives of the company
  • Work with and be a primary relationship manager and point person for all HCB corporate departments, including Operations, Commissions, IT, Marketing, and Compliance
  • Develop and lead training initiatives for HCB field and institutional customers, including demos of platform technologies
  • Other duties as assigned

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree from accredited university in business, insurance, finance or related field is required

Basic Requirements:

  • 3+ years of account manager experience is preferred
  • 1+ year of experience in life insurance, banking or financial industry is required
  • Knowledge of and ability to execute project management skills, analytical skills, quality assurance and technical writing (such as the ability to develop marketing materials or process guides for external use) skills, presentations skills, boardroom presence
  • Ability to adapt and become quickly proficient at new technologies including CRM and BI systems, and an existing proficiency with current standard platforms such as Office Suite and web-based team platforms (Skype, etc.)
  • Possess the ability to understand the products of HCB insurance carriers and knowledge of carrier and customer niches
  • Must be also be able to understand HCB carrier and institutional compensation arrangements
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common journals, financial reports and legal documents
  • Capability to effectively respond to producers, carriers, customers and peers is a must

Preferred Requirements:

  • Additional post-graduate degrees and / or financial certifications (i.e. CLU, ChFC, CFP) are a plus
