Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Associate Policy Admin!


About the role

In this position, you are responsible for supporting the new business and various customer service and contract administration functions to in-force Life, Disability and Self Insured Medical Stop Loss business. Youll work within a team of 15 to provides service and support to Premium, Commission, Underwriting, Claims, and Field sales and service teams.


Your responsibilities

  • Processing member updates for group life and disability coverage
  • Processing Evidence of Insurability applications for group life and disability coverage following set guidelines for approval or declination
  • Processing Portability Continuation applications for group life coverage
  • Every function requires working with both internal and external partners and entail both verbal and written communication with policy holders, applicants and brokers on sensitive and personal information
  • Work within daily Service Level Agreements

    Your education, experience and skills

    • 1+ years experience in a fast-paced team environment
    • Insurance knowledge strongly preferred
    • Ability to communicate complex information effectively with internal and external partners
    • Strong Planning, Prioritizing, Organizational skills
    • Detail orientation with a high level of accuracy
    • Learn and apply a sophisticated system and set of rules and guides
    • Multi-task and deliver results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
    • Demonstrate initiative and self-motivation skills
