This position is located at LAMC's offsite Endoscopy Center, and provides direct assistance to the surgeons(s) during surgical procedures. Positions the patient to give best exposure for surgical procedure, using stabilizing equipment when necessary, while maximizing patient comfort and safety. Provides visualation of the operative site using appropriate method, including manipulation of tissue and materials, retraction, sponging, suctioning, and irrigation. Utisilizes appropriate technique to achieve temporary and permanent hemostasis. Assists with body plane closue, application of wound dressing, and securing of drainage systems.
MUST have current BLS upon hire
Graduate of a program in disciplin preferred
Certificaton for OR Tech preferred
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work withmiminal supervision. Must be able to wrok in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
New hires will have ninety (90) days from date of hire to obtain American Heart Association
certifications. Notwithstanding this ‘grace period’ for obtaining American Heart Association
certifications, employees are not excused from being current in any and all existing certifications
that are required for their position as outlined in the position job description.
