AM Senior Producer

WPEC has an immediate opening for a Senior Producer for our Morning News.  In this role, you will be actively involved in the editorial decision-making. You'll be doing hands-on producing every morning focused on building impactful breaking news segments and showcasing other featured content.  You will assist in planning for the show and be the primary fill-in for AM line producers in the event of a sick call or vacation.  You will work closely with on-air staff to generate and develop story ideas and keep them on-target with digital deadlines and expectations.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Solid news judgment
• Be a compelling and accurate writer
• Be able to multitask and manage time in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• The ability to execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts
• Flexibility and on-the-spot problem solving abilities are a must
• Proficient with newsroom systems such as iNews and Avid and familiarity with digital CMS.

Experience:

• Must have at least 4 years news producing experience at a commercial TV station, morning show preferred.
• BA/BS required, Journalism major a plus!
