The Center for Court Innovation is a non-profit dedicated to creating a more humane and effective justice system. We operate at the cutting edge of criminal justice reform in the New York area by developing, planning, launching, and managing large-scale projects that serve thousands of justice-involved people each year. Our projects have been documented to reduce the use of incarceration and conviction, while improving public safety and increasing public confidence in government. Our goal is to create a criminal justice system that offers meaningful and proportionate outcomes, that treats everyone with dignity and respect, and that strengthens communities and supports victims.
Operating out of Bronx County Criminal Court, Bronx Community Solutions (BCS) offers criminal justice programming in the areas of pretrial diversion programming thru regular monitoring and referral services to misdemeanor and non-violent felony defendants whose cases are pending; and alternative to Incarceration programming for non-violent crimes by providing additional sentencing options for non-violent offenders. These programs reduce the reliance on pre-trial detention and short-term jail sentences and offers defendants the assistance they need to avoid further criminal conduct.
Bronx Community Solutions is seeking a Pre-Trial Clinical Coordinator for the Supervised Release Program. Supervised Release offers an alternative to jail, providing pretrial supervision, case management, and voluntary social services to people charged with bail-eligible felony and misdemeanor charges. Program participants are monitored to ensure their appearance at court dates, and they receive referrals to community-based programming such as job training, drug treatment, and mental health counseling. Reporting to the Clinical Director of Pre-Trial services and working alongside the Pre-Trial Coordinator of Case Management, the Pre-Trial Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day clinical operations of pre-trial services, including providing individual supervision to Senior Social Workers, providing crisis intervention and emergency referrals to participants, and collaborating with other programs and departments at BCS to ensure continuity of services.
