The Museum of Modern Art is currently accepting applications for a Manager, Member Acquisition. The MoMA Membership program is responsible for driving a significant portion of annual revenue for the Museum.
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Membership Growth, the Manager, Member Acquisition will be responsible for developing a strategy to acquire new, high value members at an efficient cost per acquisition and will consider all channels inclusive of email, mail, paid media, partnership, press and retail to achieve these goals. Additionally, the Manager will oversee and supervise our media agency partner and Marketing team partners.
Additional responsibilities include: Makes, executes and exercises independent judgment about membership and acquisition policies and strategies, including budget management and acquisition channel planning.
Delivers strategic plan of initiatives and activity to acquire new members and reinstate lapsed members (inclusive of paid media, social, email, on-site and retail channels).
Oversees all aspects of membership acquisition campaign creation, launch, optimization, and reporting.
Develops monthly testing plan, and data and experimentation tools, to refine membership value proposition, messaging and positioning.
Partners with Marketing to develop paid media plan and manages ongoing relationship with media agency.
Partners with Marketing and Content team on organic strategy to increase awareness of membership, capture more leads, and develop a clear journey to conversion.
Partners with on-site experience teams (Visitor Engagement, Retail, Education) to roll-out new on-site programming with the goal of converting members.
Facilitates strategic partnerships with like-minded organizations to drive awareness and growth of the program.
Tracks and analyzes acquisition data, reports on performance across the organization and optimizes ongoing strategy.
Manages budget to optimize for ideal channel mix and efficient cost per acquisition.
Performs any other duties reasonably related to the functions described above.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree, master's preferred, and four to seven years relevant experience in a membership or subscription product organization.
Experience working with data and applying business insights to drive results.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills as they relate to both internal colleagues and external members and donors.
Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
Budget and database experience required.
Knowledge of/passion for modern and contemporary art a plus.
