Production Machine Mechanic
Our recent growth has generated a need for an additional
Production Machine Mechanic. This position will be responsible for contract packaging production equipment set up, adjustment, maintenance and repair to accommodate various products, package dimensions and production volumes. Responsibilities include repairs and maintains, in accordance with operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machines and equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments. This position is located in our Pleasant Prairie, WI manufacturing facility.
Maintain equipment to ensure an uninterrupted flow of production.
Repair equipment when failure occurs and return equipment back into production in a swift, efficient, effective, and timely manner.
Maintain parts for repair and maintain equipment to minimize down time, as well as perform preventative maintenance.
Maintain and document work in maintenance logs and P.M. logs daily/weekly or as necessary.
Rebuild equipment that is offline for future uses.
Setup equipment for jobs to be run.
Troubleshoot and adjust equipment to increase efficiency and productivity.
Streamline and continually look for ways to reduce costs on parts and labor required to maintain equipment.
Monitor and check safety devices on all equipment and repair any problems immediately.
Work with assigned crew to ensure projects achieve quality work on time and on or under budget.
Work unsupervised and take initiative.
Produce accurate, high quality work to tight timescales.
Educational and Experience Requirements
A qualified candidate will be experienced as a Production Machine
Mechanic and must have the following:
A minimum of 3 years experience in a directly related field.
Must be familiar with packaging machinery operations and setups. Examples Shrink wrappers, Bundlers, Cartoners vertical and horizontal, Convection heat tunnels, Industrial Boilers/Steam Generators, Steam tunnels, Stretch wrappers, Banders, Blister sealers, Card feeders, Case sealers, Hot Melt equipment, Ink Printing equipment , Conveyors, Shrink Band equipment.
Knowledge of setup and operation of lathe, mill, drill press, grinder, welder and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
Ability to read and understand Electrical schematics plus must have the ability to troubleshoot and repair/replace electrically operated components, such as motors, safety devices, and other electrical controls.
Familiar with industrial electrical voltages varying from 480v A/C to 24v D/C.
Must possess own hand tools for mechanical repairs and electrical repairs.
Well versed in L.O.T.O procedures
Must be able to effectively communicate with customers to capture requirements as well as with other Visual Pak Companies’ employees in a team environment.
Must be able to demonstrate a strong initiative and willingness to learn new skills.
Qualified candidates must be quality conscious, safety conscious, energetic and innovative to be successful in this role.
Experience with an ERP system in a manufacturing environment
2+ Years experience with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to speak English fluently is required.
Bilingual Spanish preferred.
Ability to write and speak clearly and willingness to openly communicate.
