About this job

Receives incoming merchandise from various services. Scans or manually enters data into the computer system. Verifies material conformance to specifications. Delivers incoming merchandise, Bills of Lading and Packing Slips to appropriate personnel or location. Operates forklift. Keeps area clean. May perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:


•Check all inbound trucks before anything else.
•Receives Bills of Lading for merchandise from delivery service driver.
•Determines from Bills of Lading the best method for unloading merchandise (pallet jack, forklift, or manually).
•Unloads delivery trucks, assuring that quantities on Bills of Lading and actual merchandise agree.
•Verifies that materials are in conformance to established specifications.
•Signs and dates Bills of Lading, retaining one copy.
•Removes Packing Slips from shipments and assures that they reflect actual merchandise received.
•Compares purchase orders to packing slips on received materials, assuring that the quantity and material type are accurate.
•Delivers merchandise to appropriate personnel or stock area in a safe manner.
•Receives purchase orders into the computer system.
•Mandatory cleaning of dock and office. Require floors to be swept, trash picked up, and put in trash can.
•Reports non-conforming material to purchasing.
•Informs Purchasing when line receipts are not what was ordered, or when quantity is less than order quantity, or when material not on the PO is delivered.
•Items not entered into Syteline will not be permitted to leave the Receiving Dock.
•Reports suppliers to purchasing that do not comply with Company's bar code requirements.
•Identifies items staged on dock with a purchase order number and/or invoice number.
•Verify all PO's with the White Board information.
•Circle and initial all packing slips at verification.


Job Specifications:

 

Skills:
•Must be able to reasonably understand English to comprehend instructions as needed.
•Basic analytical problem solving skills
•Must be able to use a tape measure
•Must be computer literate
•Teamwork a must
•Requires operating a fork lift.

Education:
•High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Work Experience:
•Must have work experience using computers.
•Prefer 1-3 years in a non-climate controlled warehouse environment.

Physical Requirements:
•Ability to lift, climb, bend, stoop, push and pull.
•Continuous standing and/or walking.
•Moderate physical effort- working frequently with average weights of ten to fifty pounds or continuously with lighter weights.
•Good eye/hand/foot coordination.
•Ability to work in cold, hot and/or dusty environment, with noisy conditions.
•Occasional work outside in the elements.
•Must be able to become forklift certified.
•Must be able to lift fifty pounds independently.
