Organizes, coordinates, and schedules appointments.
Handles information requests, including reviewing files and records, answering inquiries, and responding to incoming work requests.
Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
Communicates with admitting physician's office, nursing unit staff, and/or other appropriate personnel regarding admission to exchange necessary information and determine placement.
Verifies insurance benefits and obtains precertification/authorization as necessary. Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to Benefits Advisor for follow up.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to patients, insurance companies or attorneys involved in patient accounts
Promptly schedules patients for outpatient testing as ordered by the physician and procedure sequencing guidelines.
Document specifics of the test and note that the prep for the test was relayed to the caller
Performs Medical Necessity review when appropriate.
Responsible to add surgeries to the scheduling system
Maintain the Tavoca Phone system, logs and reports
Enter Sleep Studies into the Scheduling System
Follows up on No-Shows and reschedule
