As our Day Ahead Market and Reliability Commitment Engineer, you will help MISO perform uncertainty management for Reliability Commitments as well as Operations Forecasting. You will enable FRAC/IRAC operators to conduct risk management and extreme event analysis enhancing their ability to make reliable and economic unit commitment decisions.
As the Day Ahead Market and Reliability Commitment Engineer, you will be part of the team that prides itself in demonstrating commitment and collaboration especially during critical system conditions. Additionally, you will help the control room to maintain reliability in the Operations of the Future with increasing uncertainties from wind, solar, etc. as the industry is trending toward demarginalization, decentralization and digitalization.
You will have the opportunity to work on projects such as Capacity Sufficiency Analysis Tool (CSAT) operations implementation and future phase developments, Look-Ahead Commitment (LAC) improvement, Risk management prototyping, and Operations readiness for new market products. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional operation business areas within the organization and beyond to establish innovations and solutions for emerging operational risks.
In one year as our Day Ahead Market and Reliability Commitment Engineer, you will know you were successful if:
CSAT function as control room critical tools and replace legacy spreadsheet tools
LAC, market reserve and/or flexibility products and other operation decision tools are enhanced to effectively manage uncertainties
Risk management prototype tools built for Forward Reliability Assessment Commitment/Intra-day Reliability Assessment Commitment operators to access risk profiles and inform commitment decisions
