Magnolia Community Services is a multi-service nonprofit providing support for adults with developmental disabilities. We are seeking a Director of Nursing, RN to join our team. We are looking for a well-organized compassionate leader that can supervise and oversee the daily operations of our Nursing Department. Full Time - Must be available to work flexible schedule to include weekends Responsibilities include but are not limited to : Manages and oversees all functions of the Nursing Department to include scheduling of nursing staff, time and attendance, payroll, disciplinary issues. Works effectively with the Medical Director. Ensures the smooth flow of information and services among departments, administration, nursing, outside services, physicians, case managers, families, direct care staff and individuals served in matters relating to health care relevant governing regulations. Ensure that Title XIX, Waiver and CMS regulations, as well as CARF standards are followed as applicable to nursing. Oversees MARS Oversees pharmacy issues and consulting with pharmacist regarding quality assurance issues, participating in quarterly pharmacy reviews of medications and documentation. Communicates health care concerns to appropriate administrators, case managers and families. Provide sessions in orientation regarding OSHA, HIPAA and blood borne pathogens. Teach CPR certification classes to Magnolia staff members. Participate in Annual Plans of Care and Human Rights meetings. Serve as a member of Magnolia's safety committee. Respond to emergencies including coordination and participation in Magnolia's emergency preparedness plan, addressing all medical and pharmaceutical needs as well as providing nursing services in emergency and evacuation situations. Willingly accepts and performs other duties and assignments to meet the needs of the individuals served. Qualifications: RN license issued in the state of Louisiana - must be current and in good standing At least 5 years of supervisory/managerial experience. At least 3 years of experience working with individuals who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Willing to become certified to teach CPR and medication administration classes. Ability to successfully interact with and manage a diverse group of staff and clientele. Must be able to work a flexible schedule according to the support needs of the clients Current Louisiana Driver's license and auto insurance with clean record Proficiency in Microsoft office, with the ability to quickly learn a variety of web-based databases for purposes of documentation, assigning training modules, and client attendance.
