Job Description:Challenge to Excellence Charter School (C2E) is an academic award-winning, premier STEAM school in Douglas County. C2E is an academically advanced school that specializes in STEAM education with an emphasis on technology immersion in the classroom. The majority of our school runs an effective one-to-one device program providing students a broad experience with curriculum, materials, events, and experiences.

Position Specific Information (if Applicable):

The Elementary Teacher advances the mission and vision of the school through:
  • Data to driven instruction
  • Willingness to plan for a variety of lessons spanning a wide range of subject matter
  • Working cohesively with both vertical and horizontal teaching teams in an ability grouped environment
  • Align engaging, experiential-based (STEAM) lessons with state standards
  • Adapting classroom work for the purpose of providing students with instructional materials, that address and differentiates, individualized learning plans, within established lesson plans.
  • Assesses student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals for the purpose of providing feedback to students, parents, and school leadership
  • Integrate technology into instructional delivery
  • Manage student behavior for the purpose of providing a safe and optimal learning environment within a Positive Behavioral Instruction System (PBIS)
  • Participate in a variety of meetings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions
  • Performs other duties as assigned to enhance the safety and learning of all staff and students at C2E
  • Strong desire to work in a fast-paced, intellectually and emotionally challenging school environment
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Unrelenting desire to improve your practice through offered professional development, observation feedback, and the willingness to seek out other professional development as needed
  • Deep knowledge of content, state standards, and effective teaching strategies and planning to include a diverse population of students

  • Must successfully pass reference checks and/or, background checks and/or licensure verification
  • Colorado Initial or Professional Colorado Teaching License
  • Minimum of B.A. or higher degree
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Possess the ability to motivate a team and work as a team member
  • Ability to create and maintain good working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the latest applicable computer applications and be able to effectively function in a Google-driven technology environment
  • CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
  • ELL/ESL Endorsement
  • Experience with school curriculum including:
    • Saxon Math
    • Open Court Reading
    • Step Up to Writing
    • Guided Reading Skills
    • i-Ready
