Job Overview:

Be on the front lines of a store like no other, delivering an exceptional customer service experience to both internal and external customers. As a b Helpful/Gift Wrap/Cash Office associate, you are responsible for delivering an exceptional Bloomingdale's in-store experience and are aware, understanding and supportive of all channels available to shop. You are a dynamic, independent multi-tasker in the heart of the store greeting and engaging with our customers. You are empowered and expected to deliver outstanding service and to create a positive first impression making the customer the number one priority. You are a problem solver and a multi-purpose partner supporting the merchandise return process as well as other support functions that augment the customer experience and drive productivity. You are also the subject matter expert on Smart POS and responsible for all Cash office functions. You are able to handle varied and multiple priorities while consistently providing outstanding service. In an increasingly Omni-channel environment, the b Helpful/Gift Wrap/Cash Office associate ensures our in-store and online customers receive the best possible experience in order to drive long term business growth. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Connect well with internal and external customers providing the best possible in-store experience.
  • Deliver a luxury customer experience through greeting and engaging the customer and providing a genuine and friendly interaction.
  • Complete processes involving daily merchandise returns and non-congruent merchandise returns activities by closely following established operational procedures.
  • Work closely with customers and associates on resolving credit card/loyalty card issues and questions.
  • Answer the telephone and provide support to internal and external customers and ensure follow up.
  • Greet our BOPS customers, retrieve, their purchases and expedite all in store needs.
  • Reach out to customers who have not picked up their orders to make them aware that their merchandise is ready for pick-up.
  • Promote the Bloomingdale's Loyallist program and shares features and benefits.
  • Greet our customers in person and on the phone and connect them with a Selling Team professional.

  • Execute all Cash office functions and operations including but not limited to deposits, loans, change, and manage super funds. Make change for associates.
  • Count, balance and deposit money, checks and gift cards and logging any discrepancies.
  • Wrap gifts with boxes, gift wrap and ribbon, paying attention to details and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Sell gift cards and greeting cards and offer additional items and services.
  • Retrieve merchandise requested by our customers and assist in making in-store service appointments and promote in-store events.
  • Promote the Bloomingdale's Loyallist program and shares features and benefits.
  • Reach out to customers who have not picked up their order to attempt to save the sale.
  • Process returns seamlessly and quickly problem solves issues to ensure an outstanding experience for our customer.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to customers on the phone, resolve their needs and connect them to the expert who can assist.

  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
Qualifications and Competencies:
  • No Education required.
  • 1-2 years related experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, team members and management.
  • Ability to read and write/type.
  • Comfortable speaking over the phone.
  • Basic mathematical skills required and ability to use calculator.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Flexibility in responding to changing priorities.
  • Ability to collaborate and participate as a member of a team.
  • Must possess strong sense of urgency.
  • Availability to work retail hours which may include day, evening, weekend and/or holidays based on the department and store/business needs.
Physical Demands:
  • This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting for extended periods of time, hearing, and talking.
  • May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
  • May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and viewing computer monitor for extended periods of time.
  • Involves manual dexterity for using keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
  • May involve moving or lifting items at least 30 pounds.
