Citigroup's Non-Agency Residential Mortgage Group, a unit within Global Spread Products, is seeking to add an Analyst to its existing team. The broader business trades Residential Loans, provides debt facilities, securitization and advisory services to our institutional clients and touches non-agency assets including seasoned performing, re-performing and non-performing loans, new origination prime and near prime loans, HELOC and closed end second mortgages, mortgage servicing rights, small balance commercial (SBC) loans and single family rental and I-Buyer (SF) assets. Existing clients are well capitalized non-bank originators, hedge funds, private equity funds, servicers, single family operators and REITs with expertise in originating, aggregating, and/or managing residential mortgage assets.
The candidate will support the larger mortgage team and gain exposure to due diligence, banking, analytics and trading functions within the overall business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in the fixed income financial markets. Daily responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Support the three main lines of business across the residential mortgage space
Securitization and Advisory
Aid in the coordination across business and technology for all technology efforts impacting the business
Facilitate the negotiation and execution of confidentiality agreements and initiate Citi's KYC process with clients and internal legal counsel
Manage vendor relationships, including working with Procurement on contract negotiations and managing vendor risk
Preparation and delivery of Regulatory Reporting for internal and external parties
Oversight of mortgage servicing across Citi's portfolio
Assist in preparing daily, weekly, monthly reporting an monitoring issues related to collateral review, exception reporting and MERS reconciliation.
Prepare presentations for aggregator reviews with the Rating Agencies
Assist in review and analysis of the gaps and overlays for Seller Guidelines.
Applicants should be college graduates with academic specialization in a quantitative or technical discipline such as Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance or Economics and possess strong communication skills. Candidates with programming experience (e.g. SQL, Python, VBA, Java, etc.) and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint are preferred. Applicants must be willing to work in a demanding transaction-oriented environment and be well-organized, detail-oriented, and have the ability to manage multiple tasks and varying priorities. Prior experience with residential mortgages is preferred.
