The Global Industry Group / Enterprise Accounts Program Manager serves as a liaison between the company and the client during pre-sales and/or project execution phases, ending with successful customer outcomes and continued business opportunities.  Ensures customer satisfaction of automation and information solutions by overseeing the details of overall project schedules, budgets, and deliverables. Typically uses equal amounts of project management and technical skills to drive results. These services are typically not provided on a fee-for-service basis and usually are aiding in the execution of complex sales pursuits, internal technology development projects, or in an oversight role on large programs to ensure all RA delivery business units are executing on critical projects according to RA and client stakeholder expectations.

This role usually involves extensive interaction with customers, enterprise account managers, OEM team resources, product business units, and members of other cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products to clients.

The Program Manager is responsible for managing projects and programs that help the Global Industry Group increase adoption of Rockwell Automation's products & services within assigned accounts.  The Program Manager is responsible for understanding and managing expectations of internal & external stakeholders to achieve project success and strengthen Rockwell's partnership with assigned accounts and their overall supply chain and partner eco-system.  Understands and aligns program deliverables to business value and priorities.

The Program Manager will demonstrate exceptional knowledge of applications and market trends in target industries, have measurable project management skills, have a working knowledge of Rockwell Automation products as they are applied in the Consumer Goods and Life Science industries including machine and process design experience while maintaining exceptional professional standards of integrity, efficiency, and competency for the purpose of growing Rockwell Automation's market share in the target industries.

The global program manager will lead programs and/or projects that may include:

  • Leading the roll-out of Rockwell Automation technologies, products, and services on a global scale; working closely with and providing oversight of Life Cycle Services delivery team project managers and technical resources
  • Providing input into delivery teams on optimizing project best practices to meet the needs of Consumer and Life Sciences customers thus positioning RA to increase market share.
  • Understanding of RA Connected Enterprise solutions, Industry 4.0 and digitization solutions that can be leveraged in Consumer Industries and Life Sciences.
  • Supporting Industry leaders on Business Strategy Review (BSR) by organizing and leading workstream teams that will drive product and portfolio roadmap planning with the BU's.
  • Leading collaborative development projects involving 1-10 technical resources assigned to develop demo's, proof of concepts, pilot projects, customer applications, architectures, design tools, and other tools related to industry standards compliance and innovation.
  • Having the ability to travel domestic and globally; Global PM Travel is estimated to be 10-20%

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline or related technical field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of five years related experience with recognized technical expertise in managing projects related to applying automation and/or information solutions for consumer industry clients, with strong application knowledge and demonstrated program management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of eight-years' experience and technical expertise in managing projects related to applying automation and/or information solutions for consumer industry clients, including Life Science GMP environments.
  • Proven commercial awareness and acumen.
  • Familiarity with outcome-based selling, customer-centric selling, or equivalent sales process for solution selling.
  • Have familiarity with the following: Biotech, API, BMS, QBMS, EMS, FDA, IQ, OQ, PQ, Validation, EBR, MES, DCS, Batch Control, SCADA, PLC, MCC, Ethernet Networking, Cyber Security, Asset Management, Historian, MPC, Reporting, SQL.
  • Have a practical understanding of relevant standards including GAMP 5, ISA-88, ISA-101, ISA-18.2, FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and Annex 11 (Data Integrity)
  • Have industry domain knowledge and expertise around smart machine concepts (Industry 4.0, IIoT) in Consumer Industries and understanding of the Rockwell Automation Connected Enterprise strategy.
  • Knowledge and experience in delivery of Industrial IoT digital transformation, MES, and software solutions is desired.
  • Have experience with project management, project lifecycle execution, and commissioning of control system projects in consumer industries, with PMP certification preferred. (PMI.ORG)
  • Having an understanding of managing and executing large scale corporate rollout control & information system applications in accordance with standards developed for that customer.
