Responsibilities
  • Responsible for R&D, new product development & innovations.
  • Works closely with global R&D team & PLM teams in identifying innovation opportunities.
  • Responsible for designing, defining, & developing new technologies, processes, & product innovations.
  • Evaluate & plan new products, processes, & innovations. Surveys technology landscape & evaluates & identifies best designs, process, & technologies for nonwoven innovations to support strategic innovation & growth initiatives.
  • Develops new process, technologies & engineered products to support strategic initiatives defined by PLM teams & global R&D team.
  • Manages own projects & leads complex strategic projects.
  • Provides direction & leadership for global R&D program pipeline.
  • Designs, coordinates, prioritizes & executes the experimental program to be performed on bench, pilot & commercial scale equipment.
  • Experience working within Healthcare, Hygiene & Specialties market segments/customers.
  • Uses DOE, problem solving, Pareto analysis, & root cause analysis techniques.
  • Responsible for the generation of new product FTO & new patent filing.
  • Analyzes data, issues reports, draws conclusions & makes process, product & equipment recommendations based on trial results.
  • Assesses performance capabilities of process & products compared to competition.
Qualifications

Requires:
  • Master's degree in Textile Engineering, or related & 3 years of relevant work experience along with the following previous experience:
  • Industry experience within various Nonwovens & Lamination methodologies utilized within Health, Hygiene or Specialties segments;
  • Statistical Analysis such as DOEs, including proficiency with Statistical software;
  • Problem Solving & Root Cause analysis;
  • Program management capabilities to define & implement technical strategy & programs to support a major project having a significant technical/financial impact;
  • Experience in multiple technologies/ applications related to nonwovens;
  • Experience with technical interactions & communications with customers & suppliers;
  • Extrusion spinning processes for Spunbond/meltblown systems, & some basic understanding of carded/ TAB & spunlace nonwovens.
