Responsible for packaging system design for new capital project equipment as well as optimizing existing equipment at the Cincinnati manufacturing plant.
Responsible for developing concepts, preliminary design, budgets, and schedules for packaging project justification. Develop Capital Expenditure Requests and Management of Change (MOC) forms and follow process to obtain required acceptance and signatures. Lead MOC design reviews with a high priority on safety and GMP.
After approval, responsible for development of detailed design and project management responsibilities during project execution including managing budgets, schedules, installation contractors, procurement of equipment, start-up, and commission.
Responsible for equipment and installation standards for packaging equipment along with developing standards for Installation Qualification and Operational Qualification that will test the functionality of process designs with pass fail criteria. Also assist with Performance Qualification with the manufacturing plant.
Responsible for working with the Controls Team for control system hardware design and software development to support the new packaging capital project or optimizing of existing equipment.
Responsible to provide production support by troubleshooting any packaging and control system problems associated with the capital projects or optimization. Communicate project status updates, actions, and risks across the organization to those members involved on a regular basis.
Will have indirect managerial responsibility in the management of cross-functional project teams in a matrix environment. As such, the engineer will be responsible for leading others to achieve the directives of the team.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Packaging Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred
5+ years of experience
Experience in executing capital projects
Strong technical depth of packaging operations and packaging equipment
Critical decision making, time management, problem solving, strategic thinking, financial management and excellent communication skills
