The Sr. Project Manager is the key interface between Business Development and Operations organization and the customer. The Sr. Project Manager will manage multiple projects and is responsible for flawless and smooth execution of contracted programs according to the defined timelines and cost. The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for planning, overseeing and leading projects from kickoff through completion as well as customer maintenance post project completion.

  • Manage and directs assigned programs, which includes defining and controlling program scope, overall schedules, and budget in accordance with applicable contractual and AFC policies.

  • Direct, lead and motivate multi-disciplinary project teams and hold team members accountable to deliver results within an agreed project governance structure to ensure customer satisfaction throughout the life of the program.

  • Shared customer relationship management with Business Development.

  • Act as single point of contact for customer with regards to operational questions and ensure each project milestone is delivered in line with the agreed objectives.

  • Participates in the forecast of awards/margins and sales/profit for assigned programs as part of the AFC business planning cycle.

  • Responsible for overall program direction, control and coordination of research and development or production program.

  • Responsible for effectively utilizing functional organizations to integrate research and development, production, quality assurance, test, production support, procurement, contractual and financial data.

  • Ability to recognize that risk directly impacts the likelihood of success and that this risk must be both formally and informally measured throughout project.

  • Thorough understanding of the Company's obligations as well as the guidelines set for by regulatory agencies to successfully lead the project team.

  • Will be responsible for multiple programs and will have to manage several moving project parts simultaneously.

  • Define, organize and be responsible for all customer communication (using an open communication model), agreeing milestones and conducting “lessons learned” with the customer, as well as executing decommissioning at the end of contractual activities.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional groups, understand each of the supporting roles, ask penetrating questions and detect unstated assumptions as well as manage expectations through clear concise communication.


Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Engineering discipline

Experience

  • 5-8 years of pharmaceutical or directly related experience in an appropriate discipline/science.
  • Requires directly related and progressively responsible technical experience in order to provide effective supervision for activities within defined scope of responsibility.
  • Knowledge of the marketplace and customer needs, objectives and expectations
  • Advanced years of Project Management in the areas of the Pharma Industry e.g., process development, cGMP manufacturing, process registration, analytical science, Quality assurance, etc.

Skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of management and individual contributors.
