Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Quality Assurance Testing Analyst, Epic to one of our locations in Seattle, WA; Renton, WA; Portland, OR; Anchorage, AK; Missoula, MT; Irvine, CA; Santa Rosa, CA; or Lubbock, TX.

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Testing Analyst, Epic to demonstrate full use and application of standard practices and concepts related to quality and assurance. Coordinate with appropriate teams to gather crucial requirements on new or existing technical workflows and be able to apply those requirements appropriately to testing scripts. Be familiar and analyze common clinical and Access/Revenue workflows and understand how they are applied in a clinical or access/revenue setting. Work with QA tools such as Quality Center and understand how to use these tools to produce testing processes based on best practices. Work with clinical informaticists, business analysts or provider informaticists in order to understand testing outcomes and whether or not those outcomes meet requirements. Report out to various other types of analysts when testing outcomes do not meet QA standards or business/clinical requirements.

Build and enhance effective working relationships with a wide range of internal and external contacts, vendors and stakeholders on behalf of Providence St. Joseph Health and Services. Work collaboratively with colleagues across PSJH in delivery of specific implementation, upgrades or optimization to deliver quality assurance on behalf of the Epic Applications.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Build and participate in testing strategy and test plan development of departmental or location roll-outs of Epic, Epic Special Update testing and validation, new hardware Epic interacts with, net-new interfaces and downtime recovery. Understand what the testing goals are for the Epic team for minor changes as well as major releases.
  • Become familiar with new Epic products being introduced in order to deliver appropriate testing scripts and to deliver quality assurance for these products when moved to a production environment.
  • Work collaboratively with clients and analysts to understand technical workflows. Is able to apply these workflows to the use and development of test scripts.
  • Be familiar with and utilize standard practices when performing User Acceptance Testing, Application Testing and Integrated Testing for Upgrades, Implementations and Optimizations.
  • Work extensively with business analysts, clinical informaticists, provider informaticists and application analysts to analyze test outcomes, run the tests appropriately, report out any build defects from the outcomes and ensure that defects are resolved in re-testing.
  • Able to work in and make use of test management (QA) tools to apply QA standards and best practices to the testing processes.
  • Keep up-to-date analytical knowledge and skill sets of business and clinical workflows that apply to the workflow they're testing.
  • Be available and prepared for coordinated testing events by ensuring test scripts are up-to-date, relevant and application analysts are ready with their build.
  • Participate, coordinate and help mitigate issues that impede Implementation, Upgrade and Optimization testing by being part of those project teams and performing a role that helps mitigate deadline violations that impact timely testing.
  • Utilize experience with clinical and business workflows in Epic in order to participate in unit testing when complex and resource intensive projects call for it.
  • Able to define and meet individual goals consistent with organizational mission, quality, budget, customers, and financial results.
  • Collaborates with peers to create and maintain standard team specific documentation. Instrumental in maintaining, and consistently participates in improving standards of documentation.
  • Work with the PSJH QA team to find opportunities for improvement and testing automation within each of the Epic Applications.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • 7 years Industry Related Experience.
  • Applicable Epic Certification required within 3 months of last class required for certification
  • Certifications must be kept up to date

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Business Administration Or equivalent educ/experience.
  • 3 years Healthcare IS experience.
  • 1 Previous Epic Experience.
  • Epic Certification within the first 90 days.
