Overview: The Seattle Children's Therapeutics Department at the Seattle Children's Research Division (SCRD) seeks to develop innovative cellular therapies and translate these advances to groundbreaking clinical trials for children with the most aggressive forms of cancer. The Department's long-term mission is to replace cancer therapies such as radiation and chemotherapy with "smart" therapies capable of eliminating cancer with precision, thus leaving the body unharmed. This is an opportunity for a Research Scientist II to join the Correlative Studies Laboratory (CSL). The major role of CSL is to do exploratory analysis of clinical trial specimens to test for CAR T-cell persistence and to provide feedback on treatment efficacy to our manufacturing and research groups. Responsibilities for the Research Scientist II position will include daily specimen processing and flow cytometry assays of incoming clinical trial samples, aiding in general laboratory upkeep, and maintaining a constructive laboratory environment. Strong candidates will demonstrate excellent oral, written, and organizational skills, careful attention to detail, strong organizational and record keeping abilities, experience with data presentation, integrity, credibility, and a positive attitude in daily performance. This position will be expected to participate in weekly group meetings and maintain research records according to GLP regulations. Requirements Required Education/Experience: - Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline.- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a related area/laboratory setting. Preferred:- Previous experience with sterile technique and tissue culture. - Knowledge of good laboratory practice (GLP) guidelines.
