At James Hardie Building Products, our mechanical and electrical technicians operate at a world-class level for Maintenance & Reliability.  At a minimum, we are able to inspect & troubleshoot manufacturing process equipment.  However, we are continually refining our skills for precision, proactive, and predictive maintenance.  Our maintenance team has a drive to not settle for “the way it is”, but continually improve in every aspect of safety, precision installation, and asset reliability. 



Implement strategic vision for maintenance and reliability to correct, coordinate, and support plant maintenance functions by: (65%):

• Supporting plans to reduce breakdowns, improve planned maintenance, optimize scheduled maintenance, and effectively execute down-day events;
• Maintaining the facility in a safe manner and to a standard level of equipment availability;
• Cover various shifts as needed for vacations or manpower needs
• Maintaining close contact with Maintenance Supervisor to ensure maintenance activities occur with minimal disruption to production operations;
• Recommending improvement in maintenance and operational procedures
• Capturing and recording necessary equipment and material history;
• Working with storeroom personnel to order replacement parts and build BOMs

Preferred Equipment Experience:
Motors, Gearboxes, Warman pumps, Boilers, Bearings, Conveyors, High pressure Water systems

Skill Experience:
Welding, General Fabrication, Rebuilding Pumps (belt & direct drive), bearings, gearboxes

Must be able to read & write in English

Must bring your own hand & power tools.  Specialty hand & power tools will be supplied by the company for general crew use

• 3 or more years maintenance experience in a continuous operating (24/7) manufacturing environment or related field.
• Strong mechanical technical knowledge.
• Experience working with a maintenance database system (CMMS)

Required qualifications:

  • 18 years or older
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Speaks English

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in the construction industry
