Job Title: Accounts Payable Clerk
Reports to: Business Manager
Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Business Manager, the successful candidate will process account payables via data entry, maintain data in spreadsheets, and will support both internal and external contacts.
Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Processes payables through the Workday finance system
Maintain accounting records in accordance with relevant accounting and internal control principles and practices
Perform reconciliations between department records, Purchase Orders and vendor statements, checking to make sure all invoices have been received and paid.
File / Scan supporting documentation
Primary contact for vendors for status of payments and purchase orders
Responsible for various reports as assigned.
Maintain Excel spreadsheets related to payables, accruals and equipment.
Backup other department employee duties.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Competence and high level of accuracy with Excel, other Microsoft Office products, accounting software (Workday a plus), 10 key by touch, and or equivalent
Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and superior organizational, multi-tasking, & prioritization skills.
Requires flexibility, confidentiality, a high level of accuracy with attention to detail, and the proven ability to work professionally and collaboratively in a fast paced team environment.
Education and/or Experience
High School diploma of General Education Degree (GED); and one year of related accounting experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees in the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios and percentages.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Required Skills and Abilities
Strong computer skills
Proficiency in Quickbooks, Microsoft Excel and Word.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
