The Director of Advancement Services and Data Analytics supports all areas of Advancement through collaborative partnerships within the Advancement leadership team and ensures the Advancement team has the data, technology, and resources needed to succeed in the goal of increased philanthropic support of St. Paul’s School. The Director reports to the Chief Advancement Officer and works closely with the Director of Advancement.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Serving as a key advisor to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Director of Advancement and the Advancement leadership team, the Director provides strategic leadership and long-range and short-term planning and management of the following:

  • Developing fundraising and engagement strategies for the School using giving and engagement trends, donor behavior, and analytics to help guide the School’s advancement programs; shares findings in fundraising reports
  • Manages and directs the Advancement Services and Data Analytics team
  • Assumes full responsibility for all Advancement data including both the constituent database and related systems, including data entry, database structure, data integrity, system access, and systems integration; maintains the effectiveness of the database, including identifying protocols and procedures for the Advancement team and related training
  • Gifts management, including gifts policy development and approval, gift entry, gift receipting, gifts reporting, and pledge collection
  • Partners with and supports the Advancement team in the effective discovery and research of key prospects; defines and implements research priorities, methodologies, and utilization
  • Manages donor relations and Stewardship programs, including fund agreements, acknowledgements, donor recognition, and donor relations reporting
  • Builds a robust suite of fundraising reports to guide Advancement strategy and work; designs predictive modeling and constituent analytics and forecasting
  • Supports the Business office with required financial reporting, including periodic reconciliation reports and annual organizational reports
  • Manages the budget and resource allocations for the Advancement Team.
  • Works with key internal stakeholders to build cross functional collaboration and efficiencies
  • Other duties may be assigned at any time at the discretion of the employee’s supervisor

 

Supervisory responsibilities: Data and Reporting Management, Gift Management, Prospect Research and Management, Stewardship, and Advancement Events  

Qualification requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Expertise and deep experience in advancement operations and data analytics; Raiser’s Edge expertise preferred
  • 3 years of operations leadership experience
  • An understanding of the flow of work in a development office and the ability to manage that work to ensure continuous improvement
  • Experience managing complex projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to effectively present complex information and database training in one-on-one and small group settings to a variety of constituencies
  • Ability to analyze, understand, and organize financial data
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
  • Ability to develop effective interpersonal relationships

  • Primarily Monday through Friday, regular business hours; however occasional longer hours and weekend responsibilities are expected
