The hair stylist’s job is simple: AMAZE the guest with such EASY, FAST and FRIENDLY service that he or she will never again think about going anywhere else for a haircut, and do this on a daily basis.

The hair stylist is the most important role in the salon. Hair stylists are tasked with providing guests with an enjoyable, satisfying experience. REMEMBER: Without our guests, there is no salon. The hair stylist is responsible for consistently demonstrating professionalism while serving guests in a friendly way that communicates we value them and their satisfaction. Additionally, hair stylists are required to engage in consultation to understand exactly what guests want, and to satisfy their wishes by effectively and creatively utilizing SUPERCUTS technique.

Duties:

• Provide quality haircuts by consulting with the guest and using SUPERCUTS technique

• Educate guests and recommend products to help them maintain their desired looks

• Comply with company policies regarding employee attire and salon hours, cleanliness and safety standards

• Maintain current cosmetology or barber’s license in good standing with the State

• Maintain tools in proper working order, adhering to prescribed maintenance procedures

• Maintain a sanitary, orderly workstation in accordance with Board-certified standards

• Perform receptionists’ duties when no receptionist is available

• Perform administrative and housekeeping duties as instructed by the salon manager

• Remain conscious of productivity goals and work to meet and exceed those goals

• Provide exceptional customer service to every guest

• Follow work schedules and salon cash control and inventory procedures

• Consistently exhibit technical competence; complete all required training

• Arrive at work on time; attend staff meetings and training sessions

• Any other duties as assigned by the salon manager

Physical Requirements

• Frequent lifting up to 10 pounds (picking up bottles of product needed to perform hair services and stock retail shelves); occasional lifting 10-25 pounds (assisting with unloading of monthly product shipments)

• Continuous standing throughout the day to perform hair services and other job-related functions

• Continuous walking (greeting guests at front of the salon, walking them back to the styling chair/shampoo area; retrieving supplies needed for services; walking guests back to front of the salon after service is completed)

• Continuous, repetitive movement of fingers, hands, wrists and arms in performance of hair styling services

• Continuous reaching, alternating between shoulder level and above shoulder level to perform services, stock shelves, retrieve product/supplies from cupboards and shelves

• Frequent twisting and bending to shampoo guests hair and twisting to reach for tools while guest is seated in styling chair and sweeping hair off the floor after each service

• Occasional pushing and pulling to move styling chair

• Continuous exposure to chemicals and fragrances used in performing services and styling hair, including (but not limited to) color solutions, straightening solutions, shampoos, conditioners, hairspray and client perfume

• Occasional climbing of ladder/stepstool to stock shelves, retrieve products, change bi-monthly collateral and maintain salon cleanliness/orderliness

• Visual observation of guests hair, including close vision and the ability to adjust focus


Miscellaneous Requirements

• Basic reading, writing and mathematical skills necessary to read and complete company forms and other documents, read product instructions and prepare daily close-out documents

Occasional travel to mandatory meetings and training sessions, including overnight travel
