Due to the current pandemic, daily travel is minimal and voluntary to ensure the health and safety of staff. There is no overnight travel currently. In the future, this position may resume daily and/or overnight travel. All AHA offices are closed and staff are currently working from home. In the future, this position will resume to being based in the local office.


The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Marketing Communications Manager, Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) based out of our National Center office located in Dallas, TX!

The Marketing Communications Manager, ECC, is responsible for being a key contributor to the support and execution of annual marketing communications plans for all US ECC market segments. The Marketing Communications Manager specifically assists with internal and external communications, social and digital communications, content marketing, customer support, and website content. This position also supports internal and external, traditional and digital communications for ECC's commercial distribution platform and eCommerce website.

  • Content Marketing & Creation (Business-to-Consumer): Supports communications plans for ECC Commercial Distribution Platform (CDP) through content development and management, email communications, and social media

  • Creates and manages on-site ecommerce customer notifications. Assists in developing marketing materials and catalogs for ECC CDP. Assists in development of customer service tools including, but not limited to, FAQs, canned responses, chat bot support, how-to guides, PPTs and other training presentations, etc.

  • Content Marketing & Creation: Assists with content marketing initiatives to drive traffic and engagement. Collaborates across customer markets, functions to deliver an effective content marketing strategy and editorial plan that integrates with line of business campaigns to drive awareness and demand. Assists with curating and writing content for Training Network communications, specifically the ECC Beat and the Instructor Community

  • Process Management: Responsible for managing submissions of forms necessary to execute ECC internal and external communications including, but not limited to AHA Broadcast Email, AHA in-house Design Studio, CDP and ECC websites, AHA News, AHA Masterbrand Communications Weekly Updates, and ECC Employee Portal. Assists in managing communications processes for ECC product launch process including drafting official Product Announcements, FAQs, customer communications, and customer support training documents and presentations. Manages updates to all official ECC Communications process and governance documents. Maintains up-to-date internal Communications Team SharePoint site

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Two (2) - Five (5) years of related experience

  • Experience sourcing, writing, editing, producing and proofing content for traditional communications vehicles, as well as social media, blogs, eNewsletters, polls

  • Ability to analyze, translate and present complex content in easy-to-understand language, formats and presentations

  • High level of project management and organization skills; understanding how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders and focus on the delivery of results; ability to multi-task and work with hard deadlines; able to independently manage a project from start to completion

  • Ability to travel up to 25% locally and overnight stay

Preferred Experience:

  • Professional writing and editing experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Google analytics, email marketing, Sharepoint

  • Design experience with CANVA, Adobe Photoshop and Acrobat
